Riverside Mini Goat &amp; Pony Farm

Site is lovey but we arrived to a confused house sitter (owner is in Austria) who didn't know we were coming. That would have been fine, but there were no toilet facilities. We choose to leave and find another camp for.

It is a quiet place on a farm with access to a small river. And to be fair, my son enjoyed the private river walk and the very friendly dogs. But there is no view except of the farm or the rv park on the other side of the river and their was no toilet available as listed on the Hipcamp site. Therefore not worth the high price of $49 per night.

Couldn't be better!!

Awesome site, great people, couldn't have had a better experience (our first with Hipcamp!)... Lianne was super friendly and kind (we had ferry issues and she was very accomodating).. Luna, Leroy, and Lucy (the pups) were a huge hit for our kiddos - they played at the site for hours... the farm was great, the lake, the site... again, couldn't be happier!

Peaceful and pretty

Very serene setting. Had the whole place to ourselves. Lianne greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. Was a bit surprised there was no portable toilet on site as advertised on Hip Camp.

Great camping experience at Blue Moon Acres. We came with a popup camp trailer and stayed at Site 1 with river access. We loved seeing all the farm animals and strolling around the farm. The best feature though is that the farm borders on the Qualicum Heritage Forest with lots of trails and old big growth trees. The hosts were great and very accommodating. We spent a very enjoyable 2 days and will be back.

Great place, the Salmon were spawning! The trails are great and it’s in a great location for many good day trips. Our family had wonderful time, will definitely come back!

It was easy to get to. The campsite was close to Qualicom river. Nice view of the farm animals. There's a trail from the farm area the runs along side the river to many swimming areas and a trestle bridge. Lianne was a gracious host.

Man, what a great place! The site was large and sheltered and backed onto a river, what could be better? The hosts were very friendly and looked after us. It was just the recharge we needed! We will be back!

I stayed at Site 2 last week with my teardrop trailer and had an awesome stay. Lianne's communication is great, the farm is lovely if you choose to wander over, but the sites are private and give you distance if you want it! Right on the river, lovely swimming, and I brought my chair down and read with my feet in the river :) There is a large RV campground on the other side of the river, but it's quiet at night and just families enjoying the river during the day - all good. I definitely recommend.

A really cute little farm! Lianne was kind and welcoming. I believe the spot we stayed at was site 2 - which had quite a lot of sun during the day and was close to site 1. But we spent most of our time down by the river, which was so lovely. There was a little path to the water directly in the site, but we preferred to walk to the end of the property and find a more private and quiet spot. We would stay again! Thank you Lianne :)

Hosts were more than pleasant, greeted on arrival and shown to spot. Site, although altered by a flood, not their fault, but needs leveling. The noise from camp ground on other side of river took a little away from the serenity of the farm. All in all , better than being lined up like sardines like most , if not all, campgrounds nearby. We did have no one around us and we did enjoy our stay in Qualicum.

Farmland Camping

We really enjoyed our stay. Lianne greeted us so warmly and took us to our sweet camping spot near the river. We swam and then got our camp ready. If you are looking for full day shade, be sure to bring your own supply as it can get hot under the sun. We added our tarp for shade so felt comfortable. At night, you can see lights from campers across the river but it didn’t bother us. We would recommend this place.

What a lovely stay!! Leanne was a fabulous host, she was so welcoming and kind. Bathroom facilities (washroom + outhouse) were both very clean and had everything we needed! We loved visiting the animals and enjoyed the river 5 min walk up from our site😊

This place seems to go under several names, the sign on the highway and to the site say Little Q Farm. The print out with the address says Centre Rd not Gold Rd. The hosts are very nice, there are lots of farm animals to see. The campsite is at the far back end of the property and its a rough and bumpy ride to get there, the site is flat but very lumpy and uneven so tenting would be very uncomfortable. There is water available at the farm but not anywhere near the campsite. Campsite is also not shaded with any trees. The river is accessible through a path from the campsite but not visible from the campsite.

I loved being steps away from River. Private spot with clean outhouse close by. Near the ocean and fell in love with the ponies. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to fam and friends. Cheers

Adorable animals and kind hosts

Our stay here was so lovely. Lianne and her husband were so kind, helpful, and great communicators. We loved seeing the animals, swimming and tubing in the river, and being close to Parksville for their Canada Day celebrations. We will stay again next time our travels take us up island. Relaxing by the river

This is our second time staying here and it won’t be our last. We first stayed on a different site, this time we stayed on site 1 which was smaller, but literally right next to the river through a small path. There was just two of us and our little dog and we had an amazing time. Thank you to Lianne and her husband, such a nice stay, we can’t wait to come back!

Experience farm life!

I booked this site as a present for my girlfriend and it was such a special place. Lianne is a gem, you can tell right off she loves this land, the animals and educating people about small farm life. She greeted us right from the start and showed us the sites, each one along the river with a raised fire pit and picnic table and with a sense of seclusion and privacy. You can definitely have any level of engagement with the farm portion you want, Lianne gave us a tour and some oat "treats" for the animals, and we were also able to roam the property on our own, taking a small path down to a private swimming hole and spending time with the goats, sheep, bunnies and chickens. Its super close to town while also feeling like you are completely away from it all. 11 out of 10 recommend this place!

My family and I really loved our experiences at Blue Moon Acres. The kids enjoyed looking at the different farm animals, playing in the river right next to our campsite, fishing, catching small fish and crawfish, and playing with Lianne’s friendly dogs. Lianne and her husband were very kind and friendly.

Farm fun at the river side!

Lianne's Blue Moon Farm was beautiful and she was friendly and hospitable! The location was easy to find following the Little Q Farm signs. There are two camp sites in a large field that backs on to the Little Qualicum River and access to the river from the other sites. Great swimming in the river! You can start at the top of the property and tube down river to the gate at the bottom. The road through the field is bumpy, go slow, but the sites are flat and well maintianed. We tented and it was a long walk to the water and bathroom, which didn't bother us, but might be difficult for families with small children. The location was close to the beaches at Qualicum and to Coombs. We will be back!!

Loved our stay at Lianne's campsite. We were right along the Qualicum River. The site was private, relaxing, quiet. Lianne and I exchanged several messages and she was very accommodating and quick to respond. I'm not much of a swimmer but my husband took a refreshing dip in the river. There are trails to walk along the property and you are a very short drive from Qualicum and Parksville.

Beautiful property, lovely hosts, I can’t wait to go again to be honest. I am so happy I was able to find this place, especially for the long weekend! It is right on the river, a 5 min walk from our site. Our site had tons of space, lots of shade in the morning, and very quiet. It was the perfect getaway for our group. I plan to go back again soon, hopefully before the summer ends!

I had read the great reviews about Lianne’s farm previously and I can honestly say it lived up to the hype. Beautiful little farm and right on the river where we spent a lot of time floating on our tubes. Lianne and Thomas are great hosts making sure we had everything we needed.We will definitely be going back for another stay in the future.

A lovely spot to camp. Kids loved the farm animals and floating down the river to the ocean. There is a camp ground across the river that had a loud group, but this was apparently not the norm. Lianne was a lovely host, and we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Host and Great Location

We had a great stay here on the May long weekend. Lianne was very responsive when we booked last minute, provided clear directions and helped us get set up. The property is located adjacent to a beautiful publicly accessible forest with impressively large trees, an extensive trail network and access to the river. The campsites are private and most are right on the river. There is another campsite in the other side of the river, but this did not bother us at all. The animals in the farm were an added bonus (even though we weren't traveling with children).
