We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Indstead. It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful next to the big tree, and the two dogs were friendly visitors to our camp in the evening and morning. Would recommend!

Beautiful country, and views of Wind River range and Sacajawea Cemetery. We were able to locate property easily with directions provided. Wandered a bit to locate optimal site to pitch tent and where my dog wouldn’t be eating horse manure all the while. My daughter loved playing with Patti’s friendly dogs. Loved waking up to the grazing horses. Patti drove by to greet us second night which was nice. As another reviewer has said, the price point does seem quite high, compared to other scenic sites I’ve stayed with more amenities. Water is off properly site across road at cemetery. This is sacred land and I was grateful to enjoy my time there.

Very beautiful. Some horses let us pet them. Visiting the Sacagawea cemetery was nice. Wink and Poppop were very sweets dogs that came out to visit us. Wink slept by the tent all night long. Bring bug spray. It was a very nice experience!

Patti and her husband were gracious hosts, making us feel welcome the moment we arrived. They built their lodge by hand, with pine shafts hewn and sanded from the neighboring hills. We had everything we needed for a perfect night under the stars, even a loyal and friendly hound to keep watch over our campsite all night long. If we pass this way again we would definitely stay here again!

Would recommend The Instead! We had a little trouble finding the spot at night but our host, Patti, was super nice and very helpful! The host's sweet dogs wander around the property and were the highlight of our stay. We felt super safe knowing the pups were sleeping right outside our tent :-) The property is beautiful and we wished we could have stayed longer!!!

Thank you to Patti and her animals for making us feel safe and welcome. Delightful little spot that filled our hearts and spirit of Wyoming and the Wind Rivers. Don’t pass up the opportunity to stay in a tepee!

What we needed. The cots and carpet were clean. The Extras such as coffee and creamer were much appreciated. Can not recommend Patti enough as a host or her rental. Wonderful host, wonderful place. No complaints!!!

This place is magical. Patti was such a welcoming host and had a fire ready for me when I arrived. She was communicative and kind and I would recommend this stay to anyone. She even had a kettle for me to make coffee in the morning. There were three sweet dogs that hung out with me for the night and I woke up with horses all around. It was wonderful. The views and sunset were spectacular and I went to Sacajawea's grave across the street the next morning. 10/10!

Patti and her husband are so awesome and helpful! We had an amazing stay on their property. The dogs were so sweet, and stayed with us all night. We spent time with their beautiful horses and visiting the Sacajawea Cemetery. It was an incredible time!

This is a beautiful site to stay at and we were privileged to be able to stay here, surrounded by nature: free-ranging horses, super friendly dogs and views of the Wind River Mountains. Patti was an excellent host, providing such a nice and easy experience for us: she communicated directions and instructions on where the teepee was located throughout the day and asked if we wanted the cots set up in the teepee before we arrived and even started a welcome fire for us in the firepit! The teepee was surprisingly spacious and had mats on the ground to keep everything clean. There was a mosquito net provided around the cots as well to protect us from bugs. And when we went to bed, one of the dogs laid down directly outside the teepee to basically protect us from anything that came by. Super sweet and we felt 100% safe with her outside! We will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone passing through Wind River. On a side note, the dogs onsite do bark through the night if they hear any random animals passing through the fields, so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Wasn't bothersome once I had them in and I slept through the night! Thanks Patti!

This was the perfect place to stay on our way home to Minnesota- offering beautiful landscape and a whole lot of privacy! We also made some new friends with the dogs who politely hung out with us all night. It was the most relaxing night of our road trip!

I planned to stay at Patti’s location as a single mom traveling with my two school aged daughters, and part of the reason I felt safe to do this was that Patti was super responsive in answering my questions and helping me feel secure. Unfortunately, I can not speak to the experience of staying overnight there because on the morning of the day we planned to camp one of my kiddos woke with three of the Covid symptoms and needless to say we had to change plans quickly. As a testament to Patti’s character she was understanding and supportive when I cancelled my reservation and without my even asking she refunded the majority of my reservation fee, which I thought I was simply going to lose since I gave her such short notice. I sure hope I can take my kids stargazing there another time!

The campsite was great, exactly how it is described by Patti. Once we got onto the property (and closed the gate) we found a great spot. And right on schedule, as soon as the tent was up, the dogs showed up to greet us. One spent the afternoon with us. Two more showed up to spend the evening sleeping outside our tent.
As far as getting there, the GPS took us right to the gate (which is the only gate painted multiple colors so easy to spot). Would definitely recommend the site.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the two most friendly, excited pups in the world. Who really wanted to say hello! The site was a choose-your-own-spot type and the area I chose was really well maintained. Keep in mind there are free range animals here, so if you’re squeamish about bodily functions, this might not be the right place for you. Sleeping was a bit hard for me since the pups are pretty active guard dogs but I appreciated the hell out of them protecting whatever they needed to and then coming back and sleeping right outside my tent all night. It was so sweet. I got a solid 7 hours and got to see the Milky Way frommmy tent — never a bad sign. Although I didn’t get to meet her, Patti’s a fast communicator and very friendly via text. Much appreciated!

We didn’t get to see Patti but her directions were excellent. The site is beautiful and private. You have your pick of where to camp. Since you’re sleeping in a horse pasture, there are flies and horse manure around but they weren’t too bad. Three cute dogs spent the night outside our tent. We stayed here after spending the day in Yellowstone and it was a bit too far for us. Loved seeing a new area but not sure it was worth the expense.

We had a little difficulty finding the road to the property - it was behind a gate - but once on property all was wonderful. Loved the horses and the dogs! We had a very windy night...that had nothing to do with the host or property but just gave us a bit less sleep. We loved our stay here!

Stayed 2 nights. After settling on a campsite, (it’s wide open pasture) had a great couple nights. Setting is beautiful, quiet, and private. Horses and 2 very friendly farm dogs will keep you company if you’re lucky.
