Description

Just 15 minutes outside of Jemez Springs in the Jemez National Recreation Area section of the Santa Fe National Forest, the 7,600-foot San Antonio Campground sits in a grove of Ponderosa pines along the San Antonio River. This spot is popular for its river access, prime for swimming and fishing, plus its proximity to local hiking and mountain biking routes. Even better, the Spence Hot Springs Trailhead is just five minutes away. And at camp, San Antonio Campground features 20 campsites, just  six of which accommodate RVs with electric and water hookups. Campsites have picnic tables and fire rings with access to a vault toilet but no dump station.

Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation

  • All San Antonio Campground campsites are reservable 6 months in advance online or by calling 877-444-6777.
  • Because of its prime location and short season, this mountain campground is extremely popular. Book your campsite as early as possible.
  • When to Go

San Antonio Campground is typically open from mid-May to mid-October. For information on the current season, weather, and any possible water restrictions at the campground, contact the Jemez Ranger Station at (575) 829-3535. Always bring sun protection and warm weather camping gear, as summer days are hot with cold nights.
