Valhalla Tree Farm

6 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents100 acres · Arlington, WA
When Earl and Laurine Ingebright found an ad in a local paper for sixty acres near Arlington, in 1958, they knew it would be a place for family fun, relaxation, and their own private forest. What they could not have anticipated was the sheer diversity of projects, parties, and fun that the family would pursue on the property over the coming generations. From forest stewardship and timber harvesting, to campsites and trail construction, to rock concerts and wine making. While they have since passed, these founders began something truly amazing; A tree farm that showcases the successful accomplishment of almost every objective a forest landowner could have. Timber production, wildlife, aesthetics, recreation, and forest resiliency. Valhalla embodies all these things with so little conflict as to look effortless.

Grace E.’s Mini Forest Cabins

11 sites · Lodging12 acres · Arlington, WA
This property is supposedly one of the first homesteads in Jordan Road. This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then. The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost! Hopefully you'll get a visit from a deer and hear the hooting of the owl. :) You are welcome to check out our goats too if you want (they're in their enclosed space). The surroundings are peaceful and private, you will enjoy exploring the trails all around the 9 acres out of 12 we are sharing. Stroll down the hill to listen to the sounds of the creek and fish ladder. Our campground cabins are about 4.9 miles from the 'Granite Falls Fish Ladder'. Visit this beauty at Mountain Loop Highway if you fancy a little hike. Drive around 7 miles to the 'Lime Kiln Trailhead. The trail is full of amazing views and history. Our place is only about 45 minutes from Seattle. Why not pack your tent and sleeping bags then drive here after work, then leave in the morning. Leave your worries behind.. enjoy nature.

Secluded Olympic Cabin ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)

1 site · Lodging2 acres · Brinnon, WA
Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

Thistle Dew Forest Oasis

6 sites · Lodging, RVs5 acres · Quilcene, WA
5 acres feels much bigger because it is surrounded on 3 sides by state land. Neighbors will never build next door. This is off grid, composting out house; private and quiet. Two tiny cabins available. Shower cabin with sink. We have no intermittent power or WIFI. Nearest town is 5 miles away, so come prepared. No RV's bigger than a van or class b (truck W/camper ok) because There's a steep part of the one-way driveway from the main road at first and it is a blind corner and steep for about 200 '. Listen first then gun the engine. You might want to get out and and see what you're up against. When it's wet. it's slick. Ps, my camry makes it fine, but no low cars advised. For RV's No hook ups. $30 per night. No sewage) A community fire pit and lots of wood can be found. We need help burning it, when no fire ban is in effect. A propane cook stove, fire ring and covered outdoor kitchen Prep space is available. Lots of birds and wildlife. We are close to Dabob bay but it is not immediately accessible. This is a great base for hikers who need some comforts before hiking the great Olympic Mountains! Forage for wild herbs and berries. Go on a fishing trip in many great rivers and lakes and salt water in the sound. A million frogs croak at spring and summer! Black bears won't bother you, if you see one. They're shy, leave them be. Coyotes howl at night. Cougars are not unheard of. It's pretty wild here! Walk our trails, and soon with plant identifiers and information stations. Find what Hood Canal has to offer!

9Mile-Marrowstone Island

4 sites · Lodging5 acres · Nordland, WA
Nine Mile Adventures- Marrowstone is located at the end of an intentionally underdeveloped short plat. We became stewards in 98' at the ripe age of 21. Anything done or added to the land and setting was by our hand. Including the few small clearings of selectively cut trees to hand pouring and hauling water for mixing cement via our backs. We sure do hope we are doing her right! our plan? to leave as much untouched as possible. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well. Stop by our seasonal farmstand located along driveway in the. Browse our collection of homegrown/sewn/collected and created inventory everything from seeds starts to home decor + fashion all on offer inside a '71 VW BUS, you'll get an idea of who we are pretty quick!. OR stop by the "town" of Nordland which proudly boasts the iconic Nordland General Store and Post Office (currently closed due to fire in 2020) a definite nostalgic fun stop. If you have time park and take a stroll down the dock. Shower a day person? Fort Flaggler is your place (5 min. drive up the island-North) has full service public restrooms, complete with showers (bring some quarters) and flushing toilets, a wonderful trail system worth exploring and not a bad view of the straits including Port Townsend. If Laundry is something you find yourself needing, Port Hadlock has a fine one, situated next door to the QFC market. Throw in a load and head across the street to the "Valley Tav" for the best veggie burgers around! no joke.

Camp Forever Young

2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Quilcene, WA
We invite you to come and enjoy the homestead campground we’ve created. We moved here a little over 5 years ago to create a peaceful and relaxing environment where you can connect with nature and disconnect from your busy lives. We have two private sites that offer unique accommodations that are perfect for a group of friends, a family trying out camping for the first time, or a couple looking for a romantic getaway in the woods. During your stay you can feed the goats and meet some of our other charming farm animals. Sustainable living is important to us and we love to inspire people who may be interested in such a life by teaching what we've learned and showing how possible it is. We are always looking for ways to improve our land, our life and our campers experiences. Ask us questions, give us ideas and enjoy our growth with us.
