Our stay was wonderful. It is hard to believe that there is such an abundance of nature only a short distance from the highway. The views of the river, forest and mountains from the wooden deck were absolutely beautiful. Rod had run a wire between the trees for dogs and our dog was able to roam the site freely by tethering her to the leash and carabiner we had brought. We really enjoyed Rod's stories about the history of the land and felt his love for the land. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely visit again.

Great few days
We had a great few days staying here. The spot is super convenient but yet incredibly private with wonderful views. We spent a day just sitting on the deck watching the river, birds and rafters. The site itself is nicely taken care of with a terrific deck with tables and chairs as well as a fire pit with big, comfortable rocking chairs. The dog line was an added bonus for our dogs to explore. Rod was a pleasure to talk to and he shared the history of the land including about the old stone house that once stood on the property. I would love to come back and soak in the view some more.

We enjoyed our stay! Beautiful, peaceful site. The site is by the river by the woods and the Mountainview is the plus! The host is very kind and friendly. We'll be back on the warmer weather and bring our floaties to enjoy the river. I cant wait for the Cabin with the amenities as what the owner mentioned that he is planning to add on at this beautiful property. Thank you!

Great site
My husband and I had a gwtaway for a few days from our kids and this RV site was perfect! It's very clean feels like you are right in the forest. I could look out the window of our RV to the river and hear the rushing water. I also heard the train come by multiple times at night l, so I will bring earplugs next time. Rod was attentive and helped guide us in. He is kind and enjoyed talking but not to the point of getting in our alone time. The communal fire pit area is right by the RV site but it wasn't used by anyone else when we were there. There is a nice little cafe with great food within walking distance. We took our bikes from the site to Wallace State Park (which was only about 7miles) and then hiked up to the waterfalls. We went to a really good Thai place as well on our bike ride and it was only a few minutes from the RV site. Overall I would love to come back! Thanks Rod.

Stunning and peaceful views
What else is there to say other than this experience was a 10/10. Rod was incredibly helpful, flexible, and kind. He has really gone above and beyond to share the beauty that is his land with the public. He was there to greet us and visited in the morning to let us know there wasn’t a rush to leave as there weren’t any other guests coming that day.
Our site was beautiful and very comfortable. While we were camping, there were salmon running in the skykomish river below the site. The river also acts as a beautiful sound barrier at night while you sleep. Overall, I would recommend this site to anyone looking to camp, especially not too far from the city!
