Welcome to The Land, 42 acres of woodlands in Maine. We are a family run event and retreat center open to walk-in campers when we are not hosting retreats. While you’re here book a sauna and cool off in our spring fed pond, swim the brook, and enjoy the serenity of nature. Currently, we do not allow dogs as we have three farm dogs on the property who appreciate their own territory. Arrive ready to spend your time among the pines with communal fire pits, private camp sites, and an environment that will leave you feeling reconnected to the land. Thank you from Elk and Nicole!

The Yurt
Rustic Elegance in Nature's Embrace
Nestled in serene surroundings, my stay in the yurt was pure magic. The decor exuded rustic elegance, blending seamlessly with nature. Impeccably clean, the yurt boasted stunning views and a compost toilet that surprisingly lacked any odor. The fire pit was just outside the door and well stocked with firewood. The well-equipped kitchenette added convenience. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature while still in the comfort of a bed was perfect. Overall, the yurt offers a tranquil escape with eco-conscious charm, leaving me longing for a return to its serene sanctuary.

Brook Tent Site
I stayed at one of the brooks sites. Absolutely beautiful sites. I met Nicole in the driveway on the way in. Very friendly. Will be staying there again.

Clean + Next to a beautiful river
Great camping spot! Adjacent to a river on a nice property, and only 30 minutes outside of Portland. We mainly spoke with Elk, who was very kind and helpful. The hill to get down to the campsite is a bit steep, so it was a *little* tough to carry all our things down there, but very nice once you're all set up. As the very first guests at this hipcamp, the outhouse, picnic tables, and walking paths were brand new and super clean. There are a few separate campsites, all spaced as far apart as your average public campsite. Not the *most* private site I've ever had, but still very comfortable. We were the only guests though, so had no issues with privacy ourselves. It was nice to take a plunge in the river and watch the birds in the morning.
