About an hour from 2 big cities, and a tad over an hour from Staircase, Hipcampers that stay at Camp Hitch will find themselves in a large grassy spot surrounded by evergreens and maple trees. Within 15 minutes are 3 places to launch boats, kayaks, etc., along with some beach access trails. Many hiking opportunities in the area. Berry picking and fresh apples in the summer on the property. If you are lucky, you will be greeted (and possibly herded) at some point by 2 friendly aussies that roam freely. There are 2 cats also. Saturday's 10-noon is a community Farmer's market at the island's community center. Don't miss Daisy Hill's cinnamon rolls, get there early. Shelton has many many activities and events going on all summer such as Oyster Fest, logging show, car shows, farmers markets, races at the Ridge motorsport, Vance Creek Railriders, also, on the island you can tour the wildcat sanctuary

Island 50's Style Vintage Trailer
Such a sweet little gem!
My cousin and I were scrambling to find a perfect meeting spot between where we live and we stumbled upon this sweet little gem! We were greeted with a Angie and a friendly cat and 2 even friendlier pups. The trailer was super cute and the space felt far enough from the main home and neighbors so it was like our own little oasis. The fridge in the trailer kept our food and drinks super cold and we were able to make ourselves a nice dinner with the campfire stove/cooktop. We even pitched a tent and the trees provided the perfect shelter from the rain. Would definitely recommend staying here and popping by Blondie’s for breakfast on your way out of town. Thanks again Angie for the dry firewood and anticipating everything we could have needed!
