Glamping in a Vintage Camper
This camper was so cute and so clean! The host was very friendly and welcoming, and the directions were easy to follow. Extra touches like a fan, free firewood, and even fire starters made the experience even nicer. The area felt private and fields were beautiful. Only a short drive from Athens and a shorter drive to some nice hiking trails in the nearby park (thanks to the host for recommendations!) Definitely recommend!

Cutest Camper Under the Stars
I loved staying at the cutest camper ever! It was little in size but big in personality with retro decor that was very cheerful. The bed was comfy with its comforter, extra blanket, and pillows. A solar panel kept the juice flowing to charge the phones and a little fan. The little compost toilet-house was adorable and just a quick walk away. It was a nice touch to have a pack of fire starters and plenty of free wood to make a campfire. We were very comfortable and Alexandria was a perfect host with suggestions of places to eat and see. Camper Thelma’s location was exceptional for star-gazing, bird-watching, and critter-call listening. It was so quiet and peaceful under the stars…the perfect place to recharge. Peaceful Appalachian Retreat
Great Stay
We stayed two nights at the Peaceful Appalachian Retreat. It is a beautiful site next to a wildflower meadow. The property is tidy with considerate touches of water and hand sanitizer. The composting toilet is a convenient distance tucked into the woods and very clean. The hose was very convenient to top off our water supply.
The site was not especially level for tent camping; it is right across the driveway from the little trailer which is also a Hipcamp rental.

Peaceful Appalachian Retreat
Wonderful
Alexandria was SO NICE! She even helped us with directions when we got lost. Her site was very quiet and peaceful. We loved staying there!

Peaceful Appalachian Retreat
- no running water, not even a creek or small pond
- could hear the highway
- no fire pit. The fire “pit” was just a spot in the grass where someone threw a bunch of nailed boards and half burned them and some beer bottles too
- the woods looked to be timbered out a while ago so the understory was full of briers and Unwalkable and the “fields” were just unmanaged patches of invasive weeds and brush so there was nothing to do but sit in the tent or drive somewhere else
