James landed on the property in 2009, built a small barn and milked 3 cows for 3 years. Then, started planting trees,gardening the hillsides. He married in 2015 and has three Daughters with Sofi, originally from Sweden. Together they manage a botanically interesting hobby hill farm and are happy to host travelers and seekers in their cabins. Hilltop was a joint project that James built in 2012 with a talented woodworker and friend in 6 months of saturday for less than $5k. We have maintained the original vibe of the place, rustic simplicity and elegance a notch or two above glamping, well-described by the zen koan, "chop wood, carry water" Orchard House was built entirely by James from the block up to the roof, averaging 1 hour/day for 3 years or 1,000 hours. Some of the Hilltop photos are a bit dated, we have a more private outhouse behind the cabin, and have made a few improvements here and there. Reach out anytime for any reason ! We really like hosting and nearly everyone enjoys their stay.

Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge
This is the exact opposite of the things I don’t like at a regular Airbnb. The house has character, smells like fresh herbs, cozy, lots of great books and a wonderful view. I even got to play with the baby cow. Usually rental houses get sprayed with chemical fragrances that make me feel sick. Not this place. James is the best host I’ve met! I’d definitely recommend this place. So many cool plants to look at too!

Solo stay at ravens ridge
Ravens Ridge was such a lovely place to spend the weekend! I went for a solo trip and felt very safe and comfortable. James and Sofi were great hosts, I felt like I had everything I needed, down to recommendations for local exploration and a really cozy space. The bed was so comphy and the land is truly beautiful. Thanks!

Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge
Stunning stay!!
Such a great stay. We did three different hip camps this trip and this is the one my boys cannot stop talking about. My youngest wants us to move in haha! James was so kind shared some delicious bread with us and we even got to feed their new baby calf. It was a beautiful home and the stars we got to see from the house at night was incredible. A complete constellation map so clear. I live in a city so I have never seen anything like that in my life. We will cherish the memories made here forever. Thank you James!

Amazing!
