Had a fantastic stay at the Flint Hills Campground! Amy and Darius were super welcoming and truly made me feel at home and created a friendly atmosphere with all campers. It's the perfect spot if you're in the area for a gravel event. Plus, they've got a shower and porta-potty available during the season, which is a real bonus. Highly recommend for an excellent outdoor experience!

Perfect campsite for a gravel riding Basecamp. Easy access to water, exceptionally clean facilities, and the outdoor shower is amazing after a dusty ride.

An excellent camp ground
We camped with our pop-up and we were treated to electricity and water to wash our hands and dishes. The porta potty was nice and clean and it's just a short walk from the site. Our dog loved being outside with us and greeting other campers (take a bag and pick up their poo). Our next stay is already booked.

Can't get any better than this!
When you first drive up it looks like a regular campground. Once you're there, you notice all the details and maintenence that the hosts have put into it.
100% The best campground in Kansas!

Infinitely better than a rest area!
Basecamp along the Flint Hills gravel trail is a lovely spot about 20 miles north of I35 and the 335 toll road turnpike at Emporia, KS. We stopped here for an overnight with our teardrop camper instead of going on to a rest area the last night of our 16 day road trip. It was delightful! They have 2 water/electric spots for small to medium campers but we stayed in the boondocking area. The owners, Amy and Darius were camping in there teardrop also, along with a few others in small campers or tents that did the gravel trail bike race earlier that morning. We met all of them and joined them at the fire pit. The sunrise next morning was stunning and we didn’t want to hit the road to home right away. Open air shower and satellite toilet are nicely done. Hubby said “we have a new destination for biking adventures” as we left. Note- the property is WEST of Road L, hipcamp coordinates took us east and we had to turn around in the town cemetery, but google coordinates took us to the correct spot across the road! We thought it was funny because I pride myself in my road trip navigation skills a little too much!
