This epic property was built by a Dillingham daughter and her husband in the early 80's. Transformed into a bed & breakfast in the 90's it is now known as Hawaii Island Resort. This consecutive guest review award winning facility capitalized on the 2018 eruption by starting Hawaii Island Macadamia Nut Company. The orchard has been left alone for more than 20 years with only wild pigs and poultry to tend it. This remarkable property now boasts above organic macadamia nuts just beginning to reach global markets. You can buy cheaper macadamia nuts but you can't buy better nuts. We love to share our abundance with others and opening the property to travelers that love to camp seemed like a perfect addition to our current program. We look forward to meeting you :) We have firewood. Please do not bring any outside sourced wood in. Thanks!Goldilocks climate zone allows you to camp in our macadamia nut orchard. Gently rolling grassy areas with the macadamia trees for privacy. Panoramic ocean views in some areas of the property. The dark skies provide spectacular stargazing. Very near the southernmost point of the USA and Green Sand Beach. Indoor ½ bath, and outdoor showers with endless hot water make this a safe and comfortable place to pitch your tent. High speed internet is available for free. We are sad to to add an age restriction due to guests/campers flushing diapers. Children are still welcome five years and older. Great campsite, everything you could hope for including bathrooms, showers, water fill up, picnic table at your site and fruit trees on the property. Wish we had time to enjoy the pool, but it looked nice. Friendly host with clear expectations.

Decent Enough

Overall, it worked. Seems overpriced for what you get as a camper, I was van-camping.

Green, peaceful

We were really happy with the space we had for our camper van. It was flat, came with a nice picnic table and was nestled between macadamia nut trees. The very warm shower and wifi were bonuses. The dogs were lovely too.
