Indulge in the charm of a custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspens. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining retreat is situated on 2 acres, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24. There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. They are comfortable. The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. Extra blankets are in the box on wheels (also acts as an ottoman) just inside the door. There is a space to pitch a large tent a hundred feet from the cabin. We carved out a big circle in the front of the cabin (the observatory). Bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and star gaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Upon booking, detailed arrival and departure instructions will be sent to you via email on how to use the unique systems in the cabin. Please note, during the months of November to April, guests are advised to bring their own drinking water. There will be no running water during freezing season.A Tiny house but big on comfort. It is completely self sustaining with solar panels bringing power to the hot water tank for the kitchen and bathroom sink as well as the cedar shower (all available in summer months only). The lighting was uniquely designed with cozy ambiance in mind. Fall asleep upstairs in the comfy queen bed with an electric fireplace while your friends or kids get a good night sleep in the lounge loft with 2 separate single mattresses. There is a heater in the main area that runs off propane (2 40lb tanks on the porch). It heats the entire house quickly. Or, you can make a fire in the wood burning stove. In the summer months, your stay includes 20 gallons of water. The water tank is under the sink. This is plenty for at least 3 days when used conservatively. Additional water is available for purchase for $20 per 5 gallons. *NOTE The cabin is dry beginning late November through April and will not have running water. If you’re into stars and planets like me, you can use the telescope and take amazing pictures with your phone! It feels like you’re in a planetarium. Coming summer of 2024. Relax under the aspens at the propane fire pit on the porch while you disconnect and stop thinking about work 🤗 Open fires are not allowed at this time because there is no fire pit. Coming summer of 2024. Bring your favorite vinyl LPs or play one on the many vintage records and games we have in the lounge loft. Bluetooth speaker available for your own music. Wi-Fi is available and there is a TV in both lofts.
