Please be sure to inform your campers that are coming in if you are going to be having any loud boom (canon) noises that scare the dogs and give them great anxiety. It was a bit uncomfortable, and my dog couldn’t get over it for three hours… And I’m sure she was not the only one :( Otherwise, it’s a pretty cool place!

A very interesting site to see many artifacts of the old West. Very quiet, except for the trains.

It’s different and memorable.
Every once in a while I feel the need to stay somewhere unique and different and this place fit the bill. The museum-like feel of the place, the variety of ‘exhibits’ combined with the ease of getting there and electric hook up made this a memorable stop on my trip. I was there in late January so it was pretty much empty which made the experience much more interesting and fun. If you go, make to to walk everywhere on the property because there are “exhibits “ all over the place. And yes the night trains are loud. But I knew from the reviews that train noise could be an issue—but it just wasn’t enough to ruin anything.
