Welcome to our expansive 40-acre property, surrounded by public land, offering a diverse terrain for outdoor enthusiasts to explore. With low-lying flat areas nestled among majestic mountains, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Access to the campsite is convenient via a paved road, or for the more adventurous hikers, secluded campsites await atop the mountain peaks. Experience the beauty of a seasonal river winding through the property, surrounded by mature trees and lush foliage. Please note that while a single uninhabitable vacant residential property is onsite and off-limits, campers are welcome to enjoy the rest of the property and even venture onto the public land, which features a series of abandoned gold mines for exploration. For those interested in filming opportunities, we offer the option for filming at a rate of $1500+ per day, providing a picturesque backdrop for your project.

Capra Ranch
Not Safe
Not safe. Fresh graffiti was everywhere. SUPER sketchy house about 50 yards from camp site. Probably 50 yards away from an in use train track. Owner didn’t contact us, and we were met at the entrance of the property by some random guy who didn’t speak English. He didn’t know who we were and asked us what the owner said when we talked to her and we told him she didn’t contact us. Also, there were multiple piles of trash and a tarp that looked like homeless people are living there. My wife and I did not feel safe so we just before it got dark.

DO NOT RECOMMEND
We got to this site and there was a security guard at the entrance. It was a bit off putting and then once we got to the site there was graffiti everywhere and the house that is abandoned is very run down and has graffiti all over it. It was a very sketchy location and we were 100 yards from an in use train track. It looked like there were homeless encampments that used to be here since there was a lot of trash, tarps, and debris spread out throughout the canyon. There was also a lot of glass around and I would be careful your dogs or you don’t step on glass. My husband and I didn’t even stay the night here since it seemed so sketchy. Would not recommend it until it is cleaned up and deemed safe.

Capra Ranch
The location is great (super close to LA), the hosts are very friendly, and the campsite had lots of space to park and explore! I have a van with a small travel trailer, which I was able to park underneath a tree. The highway noise was negligible, and I didn’t mind the train at all, in fact I think that it added to the vibe. Took my dog on a hike up the canyon, with great views of the surrounding areas. There is trash and recycling on site, and the hosts made water available, which I’m very thankful for (the nearby RV park also has water, but in my opinion it’s not potable). Overall, a great experience!
