Dark Hollow Park provides beautiful, private, and secure primative campsites. Potable water and a composting privey are available. The camp host is on site if there are any questions. There is a one-mile hiking trail, a small stream and waterfalls located a short hike down into Dark Hollow. The Hollow is rich in history. There is a small Amphitheater in the bottom of the hollow where permanent water remains year round. Dark Hollow has played many rolls from sancuary to battleground over the years. There are numerous activities with in a short distance.Dark Hollow is a beautiful property with plenty of tenting options. Campers often hear lions, tigers, or wolves from the sanctuary located in Sand Valley below. The terrain is rugged with a steep hike down to the creek. There are many hiking trails throughout the 14 acres. Dark Hollow has a rich history of use due to the year around water sources and the terrain providing a defensible position. The Amphitheater located in the bottom of the hollow is unique and gives a glimpse into the past. The camp host is located across the highway if you would like more information.

Dark Hollow

Danny was a great host! Really enjoyed his company. As an avid hiker, he created a very lovely trail that is well mark and a vigorous hike. The 1.1 mile hike goes down to a very beautiful stream. I sat on a large rock in the stream and enjoyed a zen moment. The shower is well made and roomy. The sites are well put together with stone fire pits and some have nice stone benches. The drive there was enjoyable and access to the entrance was easy and well marked. I highly recommend this if you like a good morning hike. I will definitely be returning for a longer stay!

We had a wonderful time. The ledge site was awesome. We had all the ameities we needed. The trails and waterfalls were great. We are already talking about returning. Thanks to Zed and Deeogee for being super hosts..

Camping with mis amigos

Okay, so picture this: A warm welcome upon arrival, like arriving to a family reunion but with s’mores. The view? Unreal, like a painting coming to life. An incredible fire pit that will become your kitchen where you’ll attempt to not burn everything. Access to water where you’ll spend time with friends washing dirty dishes. A bathroom that will remind you Shrek. An amazing shower with hot water in case you're bringing a friend that loves showers (don’t prank your friends after they finish their shower). Amazing spots for your hammocks to take the best nap of your life. (I dare you to spend the night in your hammock). An incredible 1.5 miles hike to the Dark Hollow creek and a waterfall, listening to music (be careful to not to fall if you’re jumping in the rocks). In case it's your first time camping and you want a glass of wine (classic), Dark Hollow has a beautiful winery nearby. And as night falls the true magic begins, you’re suddenly in the middle of a wildlife concert! Tigers and coyotes serenading you. But seriously, your favorite part is going to be waiting for that perfect shooting start, because who needs a TV when God, the one who taught the stars to shine, is putting on a show for you using the universe. Dark Hollow will give you the opportunity to see that creation longs to have words to sing about its creator but that joy is for us. At the end, regardless if you have experience camping or it’s your first time, you’ll call Dark Hollow, home.

Great Guys and Great Vibes

Camping at dark hollow was great. Danny handles the side through the app amazingly. He has great communication and let us know everything we needed to. Zed is the other host, he is the one that will be waiting when you get there. He gave us a very comprehensive tour and showed us all the sites. I definitely recommend the summit if you can get it the view is amazing. We stayed at another site for better wind protection but it was still plenty big enough to fit 3 tents and a hammock. The trails are also very fun, although some spots are hard to navigate.

Hot Showers

Wonderful stay, Zed was amazing and helpful. We wish to camp there again in the future. The hot showers were an added bonus.
