Whidbey Island Christmas Tree Farm

We are a 20 acre tree farm in the making on beautiful Whidbey Island. The property is rough graded with lots of areas to explore. No water. Tons of fire wood to glean. Close to town for supplies but quiet and crazy stars at night. We have cleared two of the cedar groves on the south side, and they are perfect campsites. The sites are 75'-100' apart, more private than a state park, but close enough that a bigger group would feel close. Portable Toilet is on site 100' from the Big Cedar site. May through October Cedar Hallow- Our original campsite, sports a hammock, a picnic table, a fire pit, & good area for 2 tents, probably 6 people. The site has huge cedar trees all around so it's filtered sunlight most of the day, & warm in the summer! Big Cedar- Our bigger site. Equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, hammock, and space for 3-4 tents, probably 12 people comfortably. There is a dirt road that circles the property, it's great for walks and animal viewing but can get muddy in the rain so be prepared. Parking is a gravel lot directly across the little dirt road from the sites. Unload at the site then move to parking as to not block the road. Trucks with campers can pull tight to a site but don't pull into a site please, obey standard fallen tree limb boundaries. The great wide open forest to the south allows for nice nature calls bathroom walks, go deep. Thanks

Dragonfly Retreat

Porta potty available starting mid April. The camp site is approximately 6 acres located in a quiet secluded forest area near highway 525. A fire pit with wood is provided on non-burn ban days. A flat grassy area is big enough to enjoy your recreation activity of choice. Bring your binoculars and check out all the different kinds of birds. Nearby wetlands provide lots of food for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Other wildlife you may see are deer, bunnies, owls, quail, butterflies, garter snakes, and raccoons. The beach is about a mile away where you can hunt for sea glass and enjoy the waves or build yourself a shelter out of driftwood. Red Hawk Stables

Located in Sequim, Washington, Red Hawk Stables is the closest Harvest Hosts location to Olympic National Park. This facility offers guided horseback trail riding at a variety of price points, as well as pony rides for younger children. They also have a petting zoo, complete with chickens, pigs, ducks, horses, rabbits, goats, and geese. They have two pet-friendly spaces for RVs under twenty-nine feet in length, and plenty of tent spots. Don’t miss this awesome location when going to or coming from Olympic! August thru September is wild blackberry season, and the campground is surrounded by them. Feel free to pick them! When you arrive, take the very first left (theres a metal welcome sign with a pink ribbon 🎀, not the driveway that says "no trespassing") and follow the driveway between the two horse pastures, down and around to the lower grassy parking area where the pigs and goat pen are (sharp left to big barn). Feel free to pet / feed produce scraps you may have to goats / pigs. You can bring treats such as carrots and apples for the horses too, but mind the teeth on all critters! This park overlooks Port Townsend Bay and Puget Sound and has endless ocean views. What's more, you can also spot the Olympic and Cascade Mountains looming in the distance.

Once you're done drinking in the sights, check out the park's miles of hiking and biking trails. Or, you can choose to either fly a kite or ride a kite (better known as hang gliding) on the breezy shoreline.

Don't miss the area's historic buildings. For a small fee, you can even take tours of the fort's gun emplacements and century-old military hospital.

End your day with a pre-dusk boat ride, and then watch the sunset from the park's boat docks. There are lots of places to lay your head here. You can take advantage of the standard tent sites, primitive sites, or camp out on the Cascadia Marine Trail. RV's are welcome with full-hookups aplenty.
