Welcome to Steel Owl Camp. Enjoy a relaxing getaway! Connect with nature and reap the benefits of quiet and peaceful country living. There’s something about country life that just does the body good! Glamp in total comfort in a shipping container cabin! No need to rough it! Cabin has comfy beds (sleeps 5), full kitchen and full bathroom. You’ll have AC / Heat, hot water, shower, even an oven if you want to bake! Lots of open space. 18 acres with pasture areas and mature trees! We also rent tents to accommodate 15 more, optional. Steel Owl Camp consists of 1 cabin and 3 optional tents (fully assembled 5-6 person 12’x10’x8’ all-weather tents - $50 per tent - each with electricity, and its own heater and lantern. You can also bring your own.) The property is 18 acres - entire property included in your booking. The entire property can host up to a group of 20 if the cabin and all 3 tents are utilized. Steel Owl Camp offers a quiet and cozy space - no crowds or noise. Bring your mountain bike or take a relaxing walk on the historic "Chaparral Rail Trail" which runs along the rear of this property. Total trail is 35 miles. These are also available on-site or you can bring your own! Cornhole, bocce, washer toss, badminton, volleyball, lawn darts, horseshoes, several beach balls (we use these for easy volleyball). City benefits are only a few minutes away. Located in Wolfe City - sits between Leonard and Wolfe City centers - each is 10 minutes away. 20 minutes from Texas AM-Commerce; Walmart; restaurants. 45 minutes from Mckinney. Cabin

Great stay! Great location!

We went to Steel Owl Camp for the 2024 solar eclipse. The site was fantastic and she even left some eclipse glasses on the counter for us. Erika was so easy to deal with and very responsive. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The kids loved all the yard games. Nice secluded place all to ourselves. Would definitely recommend this location.

Cabin

It was a swell time. Erika the host was extremely responsive. The cabin was nice for exactly what we wanted. It was clean and comfy. We had a couple families with small kids and needed a warm place to sleep as it was 27F at night. A couple adults toughed out the cold in tents. We spent most of the time outdoors so the container space was a non-issue. The fire pit was large and we brought ample firewood from home. It did rain a couple days before so it was muddy in the grass areas so be mindful of that. There is a road right behind the container so expect some traffic but not alot. It was quiet peaceful night. Though some coyotes did make some noises in the distance though we weren't concerned at all. I would go back!

c1 Cabin plus 1 Tent

Definitely recommend!!

The host was very nice and seemed to have prepared a lot for the guests in every aspect. I appreciate their responsiveness to questions about the camp schedule and their high level of planning, preparing everything in advance according to the number of family members. The exceptionally clean and comfortable environment, as well as the remarkably quiet surroundings, also contribute to a positive evaluation.
