Personally, I prefer the bank overlooking the stream. Cool your feet on a hot summer day in Rock Creek (the main attraction). Enjoy the evenings around the fire pit. Lastly, if you are bringing dogs, you'll most likely get quite a bit of barking from the dogs to the east. I just want to be honest and warn you. Those east dogs don't like other dogs for some reason.

A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

We call it Fernwood because of the beautiful ferns and forest area throughout our 8-acre farm. We currently offer three sites that are private and secluded. We are off the beaten path with no road traffic or light pollution which makes the night sky and stars so vibrant it looks like you could reach out your hand and touch them. Wake up in the morning, make some coffee and stroll the walking paths along the property. Sit on the creek side bench and soak in the sounds of the birds chirping or just listen to the water flow. Take a stroll through Fern Gully and listen to the squirrels chatter. We offer a meditation area, a communal fire pit, lighted paths, farm fresh eggs, seasonal veggies, a pond and even a big swing! We are situated in the beautiful Southern Willamette Valley and close to many award winning wineries like Bluebird Hills Cellars and Broadley Vineyards, breweries like Long Timber Brewing Company, hiking, waterfalls, mountain bike trails and just an hour away from the Pacific Ocean. William J. Finely Wildlife Preserve is just a few miles up the road as is the historic Hull-Oakes Lumber Mill. And my neighbor is Lainey Morse founder of Original Goat Yoga!! We provide a charging station/electricity, port-o-potty, potable well water and each site has two Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. Each stay includes a half dozen farm fresh eggs.

Riverside/Riverwood

Summer is just around the corner and we are happy to be drying out from this wet winter. The mornings through summer are cool, calm and foggy. The fog typically burns off by mid morning. The winds can pick up in the afternoons so if you plan to be on the river, it's best to do so earlier in the day. The wind does die down in the evenings. Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). The Riverside site has a fire pit and a deck for viewing the river. (Please note, the deck is just for viewing the river and is not for River access. The steps were washed away several years ago and we don't have plans to repair them. We do have a caution rope for safety. The Riverwood site is away from the river bank about 100' and sits under beautiful, large spruce trees. It is a short walk from both sites to our ramp and dock to be on the river. There are signs on site to help you find your way. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests. There is also a small living and dining area, kitchenette with barista bar, microwave and small fridge. It is about 150' walk from both campsites. All areas are cleaned and sterilized after each guest. It is a shared space with other campers so if you use the space to eat breakfast, drink your coffee or get out of the rain we ask you put everything back where it was. We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. PLEASE NOTE.....We didn't realize how popular our Bunkie would be so to avoid double booking and disappointing our guests, we will keep you posted on the availability. The Glass House IS currently AVAILABLE September 4th on into the fall. The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. Bring your Kayak or SUP to explore the slow moving river (or rent ours!). Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds, Beavers early in the morning and evenings. Our resident River Otters have been very active the past couple of years. You'll see them in the morning and evenings swimming, playing and munching on Crawdads. There are Deer although we seldom see them on our property but, they are across the river. There is a huge heard of Elk down river. Our property is about a 10 minute drive to the Ocean/Hwy 101, just south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process once you make a reservation: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message. About a week before your stay, we will send the physical address and directions and on-site instructions for check in. Once you arrive at the property, there is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the 2 camp sites. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. We don't always have firewood available onsite so you might want to bring a bundle anyway. A little about the property and us: We purchased this property 10 years ago. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river...somewhere...when we came across this property. Our Hipcamp sites sit on bare property adjacent to our house. The property and house had sat vacant for 3 years prior to us finding it. It was a mess, all overgrown with blackberries, moss, etc. We spent the first 3 years cleaning up the house, apartment downstairs and putting in a new patio, new ramp and updated and larger dock. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Rick is an avid fisherman/hunter while Debbie enjoys kayaking, gardening, reading and watching the river go by. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Lost Coast Adventure Camp

This magical property is conveniently located 5 miles north of Florence and directly on Hwy 101, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the ocean. This is a large private site that is surrounded by old growth timber and teaming with flora and fauna. Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild.. and encounters with wildlife are common. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** Please be our guests, relax, and enjoy!

Also, We are putting up a 20' Tipi this weekend and we plan on fixing up the inside proper and will be renting it out to those interested in sleeping in a Tipi. It will most likely sleep 6-8 depending on bedding I can fit inside. Until then I'm happy to rent it out empty like a big tent. Sleeping 6-8 but you will need to bring your own cots, bedding etc. Just text me for details. We are currently working on a big outdoor kitchen, where we will have pizza ovens, canning facilities and a beautiful place to gather in the woods. Again still a work in progress. Some spots have fire pits. Again depending on time of year and heat conditions. Because we have so many trees, we have to make sure no fires are to close to any tree's. Again, please Ask before burning. No random burning unless oked by land owners. Thank you for for helping to keep everyone safe. We have numerous ponds throughout the property and swimming holes. We turned the 4 stall barn into a music room where we gather and host events. Soon we will have designated Spots, equipped with fire rings. We will have teepees, tree houses, glamping tents. As of now we have room for numerous big groups spots for tent camping. Soon we’ll have plug-ins for RV and fifth wheel travelers. We have alot of space to camp and still have your privacy. Currently we have an out house and hose shower and you can also use the potty Under the Star's. We provide Toilet paper and try to keep stocked but, just ask if outhouses are out of paper. Glenada was incorporated in 1912 and disincorporated in 1922 after the town's sawmills burned. This side of the river was pretty bustling before the Siuslaw bridge was built in 1936, being quite a transformative event considering the ferry from Glenada to Florence was the main way across the river. River View is located up on Glenada mountain, on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. We have firewood bundles and farm-fresh eggs available for additional fees. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. This is a beautiful rustic property close enough to Hwy 101 to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! Not to mention the view of Old Town! Learn more about this land: River View is located on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere. We have 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land just below the campsite. We offer firewood bundles and farm-fresh chicken eggs for an additional fee. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. This little slice of rugged heaven is just above the Siuslaw River and right off of Hwy 101. There is a steep gravel driveway but once at the top, it is flat and the view is pretty amazing. From camp, you can see Old Town. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red tail hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. Enjoy Florence's amazing food (ask the host for her favorites). Walk down to Old Town for dinner or bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Take a short walk to Pricket state park for clamming or just relax with a book and feel the breeze off the river. Whatever you enjoy, we’re sure you can find something close by! No bathroom or running water but there are 2 electrical plugs (110V and 220V) available.

About

Just north of Waldport on Oregon’s Central Coast, Brian Booth is a day-use state park popular with beach-lovers, birdwatchers, and kayakers. Its existence is the result of a merger between two separate but nearby areas: Ona Beach (formerly Ona Beach State Park) on the seashore and the Beaver Creek Natural Area, about a mile inland. Ona Beach features a small parking area and a generally quiet beach, while the natural area offers about five miles of hiking trails and a boat ramp for kayaking its namesake Beaver Creek.

When to go

Brian Booth State Park is open year-round, and the weather here is at its finest from July through September, when the temperatures are warm and the chance of rain is at its lowest. If you're a fan of birding, November is a great time to see migratory birds in the park’s Beaver Creek State Natural Area, while whale-watching season peaks at the coast from mid-December through mid-January and again from late February to May.

Know before you go

Ona Beach and the Beaver Creek State Natural Area are a mile apart. Each has its own parking area and restrooms.
If you want to kayak here but don't have the necessary gear or experience, you can book a park ranger-led tour (available from July through Labor Day weekend). Bookings are available online starting June 1.
The closest town to pick up supplies and groceries is Seal Rock, a three-minute drive away, where there’s a small market. For gas or a larger grocery store, head to Waldport, about eight minutes away by car.
