Secluded country living on a beautiful 35 acre farm minutes from the town of Smyrna & Dover area. Private and separate entrance area for that perfect getaway! Across from Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge where there is plenty of sightseeing, hiking, or birdwatching...the sounds of nature when you stay at this unique place. Observe Barn & Tree Swallows, Eastern Bluebirds, and Purple Martins and more! Close to Big Oak park & literally down the road from Woodland Beach. Dont be surprised if you are greeted by a few of the rescue kitties that reside on the farm. Quiet, peaceful, safe & relaxing farm environment. Absolutely stunning view to wake up to!'Kamping with the Kitties' was created to help with expenses for feral and abandoned cats. The farm provides a safe environment and 'fur-ever' home for unwanted feline friends. There are approximately 25 cats throughout the farm, and you will likely be greeted by a few of the more friendly kitties. The campsite is a flat grassy open field that can accommodate a tent and truly roughing it or having the luxury of an RV camper. There is a child's playhouse with loft available as an accommodation to stay in overnight. Guests will enjoy approximately 3 acres of open field surrounded by agriculture farmland that is currently growing corn. Guests are more than welcome to walk the perimeter of the planted fields. You will see and hear the sounds of the Purple Martins that nest and raise their young in the gourd bird houses. They migrate in the spring every year from South America. There are no specific designated campsites, and please note that there may be other campers within the open field area. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups at this site, but potable water is available at the main residence if needed. There are no bathroom amenities here. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them, and leave no trace. All proceeds benefit the care and food for the cats. *Please Note: There are available spaces to camp in a more shaded and wooded area (see attached photos). However, it's not unusual to have mosquitoes, deer flies, or possible ticks that inhabit those areas during the summer season. The agriculture fields are sprayed for insects. However, there is no guarantee, and it's recommended to provide your own insect repellent during your stay.
