It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite. But remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here. There is limited water due to the drought. Here we make every drop count so please come with water conservation in mind. Also for big groups, we love celebrating but please please avoid bringing balloons, styrofoam, plastic banners, plastic cups, streamers or anything else that can blow away in the wind. We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it. It’s always a journey finding the magical places so just a sweet heads up our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time. Be sure to drive at a steady pace (second gear is good) on the way up and don’t stop till you see the Welcome sign! You will be greeted by one of our wonderful residents.... Or myself! Arrival: We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 8pm. If possible a general ETA day of helps as well. Dogs: We have two dogs with wonderful dispositions that roam freely here. Checo is a 11 year old GSD and Arco is a 3 year old ??? wearing a beautiful tuxedo. Arco will check in with most guests at some point. Checo just hangs out. Water: Please bring your own Drinking Water. We do have potable water here as well. We have a shower for those staying more than one night. We ask that people take _very_ efficient showers. Water is tremendously valuable here.

Small but unique site on the Sacramento River Levee - only available from March 15 to November 15 each year because it is right on the river. The site is just being improved so changes will happen over 2024, please inquire. Vintage 1975 - That 70's Show camper just added and available soon. Right now open for tent camping and small RVs with 4x4 capability. The access driveway is not paved nor has gravel, so only 4x4 capable vehicles can access it. Hopefully next year we can fix the driveway. There is lots of parking close by for tent camping and walk-in. Located in downtown Knights Landing (a small town but very walkable) the site is close enough to walk in for coffee, taco truck, mini-mart of other essentials. Knights Landing is 15 miles north of Sacramento and 10 miles East of Woodland which has ALL the bog box stores for whatever you need - Costco, Home Depot, Gym, etc, so if you forget something - everything is available within 10-15 minutes.

This land is located less than 20 mins to multiple different Yuba River access points. We are also located in the Armpit of Nevada county with 3 access ways 15 mins each way to Grass Valley, Nevada City or Penn Valley. The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Hobbit Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Hobbit Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one does not have cooking amenities accessible to it, but does have a water kettle so you can make tea or coffee. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Die-hard anglers seeking one of the finest fishing stretches in California will be in heaven here. This area provides ready access to king salmon, steelhead, and rainbow trout. Cast your line from the banks of California's largest river sheltered by cottonwoods and willows. The best fishing is found in the deep holes of the riverbed.

It’s not all about the fish here, however. Hiking and horseback riding trails abound, and it’s prime bird-watching territory. In 1872, John Muir camped near what is now the recreation area.

Today, this hidden gem in the California State Parks system is a great place for RV, tent, and en route camping. Plentiful trees offer cool shade in the summer heat, and abundant grass pampers bare feet. The campground is clean, quiet, and comfy with beautiful views and just a short stroll to the river.

When to go

The best time to visit Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its peak. Summer brings warmth perfect for water activities, while winter offers a cooler, quiet solace. Keep in mind that fishing seasons vary, with peak runs for salmon in September and October, and steelhead from late August to October.

Know before you go

Check park hours before visiting; the park is open from sunrise to sunset.
Remember that dogs are allowed only in specific areas such as parking lots and campgrounds.
For group reservations, contact the City of Colusa at (530) 329-9198 from Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm.
Be prepared for varying weather conditions by dressing in layers.
Take note of any posted orders, such as restrictions on unmanned aerial systems or metal detectors.
