Lovey's on the Sacramento River!

6 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Meridian, CA
Welcome to Lovey's Landing on the Sacramento River! COME JOIN US ON THE RIVER Located just 5 minutes from the Sutter Basin, home to the Sutter Buttes – the smallest mountain range in the nation – Lovey's Landing is known for its exquisite sunsets and great fishing. LOVEY'S HAS HEART The people are what makes a difference. Sure, you can't beat the river for beauty & sport, and you can't resist the outdoor patio by the river — all perfect for parties and events. But really, it's the people that continue to make Lovey's a tradition — the people that work here and the people that visit. There's a home-feel about the place! Come on by for a visit. WILDLIFE PARADISE Wildlife and waterfowl are abundant here. In fact, the area is a migratory capital for ducks, geese & egrets. Farmlands are everywhere as well as orchards, ponds, marsh, creeks & sometimes winter puddles. Tall oaks, black walnuts, cottonwoods, and willows offer their timeless beauty and shade. Summer climate brings blue skies & warm daily temperatures of 85-105 degrees with cooler evenings. Color paints a pretty spring with orchard blossoms & wildflowers, and fall arrives with autumn brilliance. Winter skies fill with snow geese creating a most spectacular view. Bring your camera! FANTASTIC FISHING Can you say BIG FISH? Striped bass, sturgeon, shad, king salmon, and catfish. We've got a great set-up for fishermen. Check out the photos of some of our favorite people and their fish. TRADITION Since 1957, Lovey's has been a welcome place for people from all over to hang by the river & enjoy a casual, natural environment. You can get excited by catching a big fish or just watching one jump out of the water. Or, forget the fish & sit back, enjoy the scenic views, and chat with neighbors. Lovey's is your familiar place. You can count on it – for good times and good people!

Come celebrate nature with us! Ravens Landing is a unique piece of property. Saddled in between two big mountains, it sits on top of a valley with breathtaking views. Ravens Landing burnt down in 2015 and since then, I and many friends and artists have been rebuilding using recycled lumber and various objects that survived the fires. Today I am so humbly proud to facilitate a space for artists, musicians, nature lovers, off the grid fanatics and more! We love being inspired and inspiring so please come for a visit and leave some of your own inspiration behind. We are an off-grid forever building artist community. Come explore the beautiful oak and manzanita forests. Relax and take in the fresh air. Spend quality time with our animals, drive off to the cold running creek, take a workshop or relax in a sound journey. This is our Home, so please visit with an open mind, open heart, and most of all Respect. Everyone is always welcome here. Please remember Kids are considered guests here so please include them when you reserve the number of people in your party. KID POLICY: **Must keep an eye on your children at all times. You are responsible for them! **Children must be comfortable and respectful around animals. If your kids are walking they are considered little people and are charged at regular price. Please inform during booking there will be kids in your party, that way we can possibly reserve a site closer to amenities. Please bring your own tent. All campers get all access to our hand built cob kitchen which and access to our epic dining hall deck. Also for big groups, we love celebrating but please please avoid bringing balloons, styrofoam, plastic banners, plastic cups, streamers or anything else that can blow away in the wind. We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it. It’s always a journey finding the magical places so just a sweet heads up our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time. Be sure to drive at a steady pace (second gear is good) on the way up and don’t stop till you see the Welcome sign! You will be greeted by one of our wonderful residents.... Or myself! Arrival: We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 8pm. If possible a general ETA day of helps as well. Dogs: We have two dogs with wonderful dispositions that roam freely here. Checo is a 11 year old GSD and Arco is a 3 year old ??? wearing a beautiful tuxedo. Arco will check in with most guests at some point. Checo just hangs out. Heartland Collective

8 sites · Lodging, Tents25 acres · Wheatland, CA
We are an off-grid, solar-powered, 25-acre lakeside venue and permaculture-inspired, lifestyle-rich collaborative. Heartland exists where the wilderness of off-grid life meets an artistic collective that sings possibility to the fringe dwellers of the Regenerative Eco-Village movement. Heartland offers everyone a break from the craziness of what so many call "Life" and a view of what can be co-created with each other for each other. As in permaculture, the Heartland model is about doing more with less, it's about allowing our individual and diverse natural Flow states to merge, forging new pathways of co-creation that are the true answer to our collective purpose. We invite teams and individuals to come to build through our Heartlander Work-Trade program or join retreats or workshops focused on one of our 4 Heartland Pillars: OuterWork - InnerWork - Transformation - Celebration. We hold harmony, creativity, innovation, connection, and shared leadership as core building blocks of our vision. Our private-membership based organization offers various levels of engagement. You've been called here, so we invite you to explore our tracks. The Heartland Collective is a prototype for a larger collective of regenerative communities where members can own shared equity in land and use a commonly held currency that interchanges between each location offering unique flexibility.

Oracle Oak Grove

5 sites · Lodging, Tents5 acres · Nevada City, CA
Welcome to Oracle Oak Grove Oracle Oak is located in the Oak Savannas, in Nisenan territory, in Nevada City California. Home of the Nisenan Rancheria Natives as well as Maidu', located at the heart of the Deer Creek Watershed. Currently stewarding these lands are some very hand crafty & gardening witches. We are stewards of this land, graciously grateful to grow food such as corn, broomcorn, pumpkins, flowers, and watermelons under the sun. This land is located less than 20 mins to multiple different Yuba River access points. We are also located in the Armpit of Nevada county with 3 access ways 15 mins each way to Grass Valley, Nevada City or Penn Valley. The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Hobbit Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Hobbit Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one does not have cooking amenities accessible to it, but does have a water kettle so you can make tea or coffee. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. This is not a CAR Camping spot there is ONE car camping site and the rest you is a very short walk to your site. Thank you.

The property overlooks the iconic South Yuba River canyon and is 100% solar-powered and off grid with excellent cell coverage (Verizon and T-Mobile). Come be serenaded by the wind chimes throughout the property. Enjoy sitting by a fire and you may hear the coyotes in the distance after a day of swimming, hiking, paddling, site-seeing or attending one of the many festivals held throughout the year in town. Kimball Farm

2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Woodland, CA
Welcome to Kimball Farm! We have cultivated our family farm to be a sanctuary - a place for people to feel the love of the earth, and what it has to offer us. Spectacular skies surround the farm, with roaming chickens, crowing roosters and vegetables, medicinal herbs, and fruits growing - a living model of what is beautiful AND possible in life. The cozy TeePee has a vibe of its own, and sits beside a sweet, peaceful pond, outdoor sitting area, and fire pit. There is plenty of room for additional tents and RV's. The convenience of accessible electricity, running toilets, hot water shower, gas grill and an additional covered sitting area make your camping adventure that much more comfortable. Super convenient to get here! We're less than 20 miles from the Sacramento Airport, and just a few minutes off of Interstate 5. Yet you'd never know it once you get to the farm and feel the peace and quiet. We're looking forward to seeing you soon! Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four. We are also family and kid friendly. Please private message us with any questions you may have, or if you would like additional information. We are also home wine makers. If you would like a tour of the cellar along with tasting please let me know. Please know that although the teepee provides some shelter from the elements it is not a house. This is still camping and you will be subject to the elements of Mother Nature. Hot, cold, rain, wind, dirt, dust, mud and different animal sounds during the night. When you are here you may see frogs, toads, lizards, snakes (none poisonous) ants, turtles, squirrels, etc.. Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Please note that as of spring 2021 we no longer have as many animals. Because of the drought feed prices are too high.

The best camping near Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area guide

Overview

About

Die-hard anglers seeking one of the finest fishing stretches in California will be in heaven here. This area provides ready access to king salmon, steelhead, and rainbow trout. Cast your line from the banks of California's largest river sheltered by cottonwoods and willows. The best fishing is found in the deep holes of the riverbed.

It’s not all about the fish here, however. Hiking and horseback riding trails abound, and it’s prime bird-watching territory. In 1872, John Muir camped near what is now the recreation area.

Today, this hidden gem in the California State Parks system is a great place for RV, tent, and en route camping. Plentiful trees offer cool shade in the summer heat, and abundant grass pampers bare feet. The campground is clean, quiet, and comfy with beautiful views and just a short stroll to the river.

When to go

The best time to visit Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its peak. Summer brings warmth perfect for water activities, while winter offers a cooler, quiet solace. Keep in mind that fishing seasons vary, with peak runs for salmon in September and October, and steelhead from late August to October.
