The Landing at Index WA

8 sites · RVs, Tents16 acres · Index, WA
Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy lagoon along the beach. The Department of Fish and Game have a fish ladder at Sunset Falls just upstream and BNSF railroad owns the large vacant tract down stream.A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing.Pets are welcome, there is a toilet on site campfires allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

Whistlin' Pine Ranch Resort

15 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents500 acres · Pateros, WA
Exquisitely beautiful area formed by melting glaciers forming the "Alta Coulee". The Coulee can be experienced by hiking, horseback, and mountain bike, user fee applies. The campground is situated at the South end of Alta Lake, opened in 1946 and operated by my Grandparents until 1980 when my father decided to continue operation, adding Outfitting and Guide services into the Pasayten and Sawtooth Wilderness areas. Covid put a halt on business operations and this year is the first since 2019 that we are offering camping again. The lake is 220 acres known to Anglers near and far. Plenty of room for the sunseekers wanting to play in the water on paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, and water skiing. An 18-hole Golf Course resides at the North end of the lake and white water rafting just a few miles down the hill on the Methow River. Horse camping with trail riding is available at the Whistlin' Pine Ranch Resort this year, dry camping and portable pen or highline options only.

Lakeside camping near Leavenworth guide

Overview

Modeled after an alpine German Bavarian village, Leavenworth is a tourist destination year-round, and its proximity to area lake camping is an extra bonus. Stroll the town, then venture 30 minutes north to Lake Wenatchee for boating, windsurfing, and kayaking—there’s also a shallow lagoon for new swimmers. Find lake camping right on the waterfront with partial hookups and firepits. Winter campers can also enjoy nearby cabin rentals with heat just outside of Lake Wenatchee State Park, a prime basecamp for snowmobiling and skiing in the mountains. For a quieter experience, venture to Fish Lake, known for its perch ice fishing and rainbow trout fly fishing in spring and fall. Here, US Forest Service campgrounds offer primitive walk-in sites so anglers can stay nearby. Back in town, explore Jolanda Lake and kayak or canoe to the dam just before the whitewater spillways of the Wenatchee River. For a greater getaway, road trip out to Lake Chelan—the largest freshwater lake in Washington—to rent a cabin or RV camp on private campgrounds just minutes from the water.
