Welcome to Shasta View Wanderer's Retreat, your ideal basecamp for outdoor adventures. Located approximately 60 miles from Crater Lake National Park, 30 miles from Lava Beds National Monument, and 12 miles from Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge, our retreat offers unparalleled access to a variety of natural wonders. Within just 30 minutes, you'll find numerous opportunities for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and biking, with private access to miles of hiking trails on public land right from the campsite. Keep your eyes peeled for the impressive eagle activity in the area, as bald and golden eagles are frequently spotted soaring above or perched nearby. Nestled at the bottom of a pasture in a farming area, it's within sight of the owner and a neighbor. However, rural living offers a sense of privacy, allowing you to relax and be yourself amidst nature. Keep in mind that you may encounter bugs, coyotes, deer, and some nearby farming activity during your stay. Our communal camping area features a level ground, fire pit, potable water spigot, portable toilet, picnic tables, and a fenced dog run (available upon request). Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed or kenneled on the property—feel free to let them off-leash on the adjacent public lands. Owners are available to provide information and maps for hiking and outdoor recreation activities. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Shasta from your campsite, with seasonally flooded fields adding to the picturesque scenery. You're also welcome to explore the hills nearby, offering even more breathtaking vistas to discover.

Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village.

Heartline Ranch and Tipi Village

14 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents250 acres · Chiloquin, OR
Stay in one of our Native American Tipis, nestled into the forest next to the Winema National Forest. We have miles of hiking trails, and lots of wildlife in the way of birds, bunnys, chipmonks and the occasional deer and elk, and are across from the Pelican Butte mountains. Experience what few get to know- what it's like to be in a real Native American Tipi. Come experience the outdoors as Natives have lived. This isn't any airconditioned motel room- this is the real deal. Owners are Native American. An experience of a lifetime. Questions will be answered, info. available. Also a art gallery of their artwork is on site in the office. Come and enjoy! Their ranch, Heartline Ranch & Tipi Village is on Crater Lake Highway (Hwy 62) just 26 miles down from Crater Lake. They have designated 15 acres for a primitive Campgrounds and Tipi village sites. September of 2020 we were sadly effected by the Wildfire- TwoFourTwo which took 5 of our 6 tipis. We have been able to clean up, regrow and make ready for camping guests. We once again have 6 tipis, all beautiful, and in addition, 6 new camping sites for people with their own tents. Sorry, NO rv's (vans are allowed.) Its wonderful to see all the beautiful regrowth, and to see that most of our trees have regenerated. It is now once again a beautiful place to be. It is their love for this land and a desire to share the beauty and Native experience with others to led them to open up these campgrounds. There is 15 acres in the immediate campgrounds & 6 tipi sites and 6 camping sites for folks with their own tents, so LOTS of privacy. Our ranch has 250 acres of land, great hiking trails that you will have access to for hiking, next to the Winema National Forest, and connected to the Pacific Crest Trail. You will have space to enjoy this beauty. The owner's horses are rescue horses and are their own private property. Please do NOT feed them or go up to them without the owners being there. Horses have delicate stomachs. Our gentle giants are mellow but very big so please stay OUT of their pasture. You may help us during their feeding time, if you ask owners.

River Pines

2 sites · RVs, Tents7 acres · Chiloquin, OR
I have two acres of land separate from my home, pretty much untouched, ideal for tent camping. On the two acres, there's a Porta-Potty available, and all tent campers will be provided with hand sanitizer and a bottle of water. The river is within walking distance, easily accessible off the main road, just about two car lengths away, off Sunna Ln. Additionally, I have a gravel driveway, mostly level, with room for one RV on the main driveway off Sprague River Road. This spot offers a river view and access for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. It's approximately 5 miles to the town of Chiloquin, about 35 miles from Crater Lake, roughly 12 miles from Collier Park Museum (a logging museum), and around 32 miles to Klamath Falls. I live where the tall pines grow. Please note that this property is a dead zone for cell phones. Happy Travels!

Oak Ring Ridge

1 site · Lodging60 acres · Macdoel, CA
We originally purchased the 20 acres of untouched land and built our cabin, the "Snug Shack," as a getaway from the city. Fast forward a few years, and 40 acres next door with an abandoned house on the canyon ridge went up for sale. We decided to purchase it and start a homestead there. That 40 acres where we now live was badly abused, and we have been in the process of cleaning up and restoring it. Fortunate for you, the land surrounding the Snug Shack was never abused and is still pristine and beautiful. By camping at the Snug Shack, you help support us in our mission to restore this beautiful place. We named our homestead after the rings of small oak trees that grow here on the ridge.: "Oak Ring Ridge." You can learn more about our project in progress at our website and instagram account: @oak_ring_ridge
