Pack up your RV for a trip to one of Oregon's most popular beaches.
Cannon Beach has long been a weekend getaway among urban Oregonians, offering excellent hiking opportunities, beautiful stretches of coastline, and all sorts of boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants—all within about a 90-minute drive from downtown Portland. Highlights include Ecola State Park—popular with hikers—and Haystack Rock—a basalt formation that juts out of the sea and provides a nesting place for tufted puffins. Cannon Beach also makes a good base for visiting neighboring seaside communities such as lively Seaside, to the north, and quieter Manzanita, just south of town. There are plenty of options for RV camping in the Cannon Beach area, from RV resorts right in the heart of town, to nearby state parks such as Nehalem Bay State Park and Cape Lookout State Park. Just remember to book well in advance, particularly if you’re visiting on a weekend or during the summertime, when demand for RV sites is at its highest.
