Nestled in the South San Juan Wilderness of the Rio Grande National Forest, the Homestead Cabin on the Conejos offers your family a great vacation experience.The Homestead Cabin is one of the original guest cabins on the 14 acre Conejos Ranch located along the Conejos River with approximately 1 mile of private river frontage. The rustic 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin has a full size, well-appointed kitchen and a cozy wood stove. The master bedroom has a luxurious pillow top queen bed and the second bedroom has a full size bed and a twin sized bunk bed. The living room has a full size futon. The cabin will sleep 5 comfortably. The cabin is pet-friendly!Outside under the pines, is a gas grill, picnic table and a fire pit to enjoy cool evenings.Fish the river right outside your cabin across the private park or in over 30 smaller streams and tributaries in the county that offer some remarkable fishing for Rainbow and Native Brown Trout. The cabin is in a remote part of the Conejos River Canyon - no cell phone access, internet or television. Wi-fi should be available in mid-June 2020.

This camp is on the chama river, swimming holes up stream, has natural Fresh water springs on the property. Close to heron lake state park El vado state park. Bridge next to camp site, moderate traffic on the weekend. It leads to Lake Heron. 

The river view is gorgeous, you can camp right on the river bank.

There are beautiful views of the Brazos cliffs, Brazos waterfall, chama peak. A 15 minute drive to Chama town. 20 minute drive to Heron Lake State Park as well as many other nearby fishing amenities. Expect to see abundant wildlife around the property. The property has some open and forest land on a hill toward the back of the property. You will be completely in touch with nature at this beautiful ranch in the brazos valley.

If the creek bed is dry, that is a beautiful valley area to set up.  View mountains hundreds of miles away and enjoy the milky way at night. This area is green all summer and breath taking during fall. 

About a mile off the highway, this land is easy to get to and six miles south of Chama,  New Mexico where the old train runs.  Going south are Heron Dam and Abiquiu Lake as well as beautiful red rock formations.

Our RV sites are spacious long level pull-throughs and have access to water, septic and electricity.  Our premium RV spaces are secluded with mountain and lake views.  Community showers and restrooms available.

Our Dry Camp Sites are secluded and peaceful with mountain and lake views.

Our campsite amenities include fishing tackle shop, minimart, picnic tables, BBQ grills, fire pits, bikes, kayaks and paddle boards.
