Located within 2 miles from Hwy 71, we're easy to find, easy to love, and easy to leave, according to hundreds of guests who have left positive recommendations... Peaceful Prairie Campsites consists of 200+ acres of prairie pasture bordering the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument. Under the care of Gering native, Lisa Betz-Marquez, the beautiful bluffs feature a rosy hue that glows on the hills at dawn and dusk. Tent sites (including pop up campers, car and camper vans but not RVs or pull-behind trailers) are located directly on the prairie. RV sites (all offering 50 amp electricity) are in a designated area on crushed concrete near our corral. All sites offer immediate foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge, including the south side of our nation's Scotts Bluff National Monument. Our 33-year-old sweetheart horse Tigger, is free roaming the area, and enjoys meeting campers. Tigger can be placed in another area if you would rather she didn't wander by for conversation. Prairie guests have relished the feeling of having the place to themselves to enjoy the majesty of the landscape, the magic of our starry night skies, and the delicious drinking water that comes from an aquifer deep underground. Lisa is the fourth generation of her family to live on Valley View Farm, located directly south of the prairie. Her family has been steward of these lands since 1925. Lisa is a member of a pioneer family. Ancestor, Martin Gering, came to the valley in 1887. As an early investor in the fledgling town, the town of Gering was named for him. We purchased our acreage in 2016 from extreme hoarders. Somehow we were able to look beyond all the junk, inside and out, and see the potential of this property. We have been fixing it up mostly on our own and it's still not perfect but we are proud of all the work and progress we’ve made so far! The front part of our property, close to our house is a garden, fruit trees, berry bushes and chickens. You can help yourself to a few garden goods. NOTE: our chickens are free range but we coop them up in their run when we know guests are bringing their pets. On the back of our property is where you will find all our hipcamps. There is a swimming and fishing pond with lots of fish, frogs and other water creatures, all safe to swim with. We are on migration path of many birds you may encounter during your stay, like; blue heron, cranes and ducks. During the warm months help yourself to the beach toys, paddle board, kayak and paddle boat. We simply ask you care for them like you would your own. There is also a large playground area in the trees, close to our house. Please don't hesitate to check it out and let your kiddos play on it!

We are located NW of Kearney in a rural setting. There are neighbors around us but not too close. Being this close to a town, there are many activities and places to go. A few miles to the West of us is Cottonmill Park which has a good sized lake and hiking trails. Within an hours drive there are fishing/boating and recreational lakes. The great Sandhills of Nebraska are just a little over an hour North to get to. Pioneer Village is South about an hour and the Hastings museum is about the same distance only a little East and South.

This is a great option for campers with larger RV's and if you need to hook up to electrical. 120v 30A electrical service and water available on this site. You can turn around easily in the gravel drive. And you'll camp right near our cattle where you're welcome to take picture, scratch their heads, or give them a snack. Tours available too, just ask, we are happy to show you around! This site is well lit and located near our home. We appreciate guests and welcome you to visit with us, we have children and they love to play with other kids. There is plenty of room for pets to roam and do their business. This site is private but as a working farm you may see or hear us doing our daily routine of feeding the cows or moving equipment. We are mindful of your privacy and would never do anything to disturb our guests or ruin their stay unintentionally. You will also have access to the entirety of our 110 acre farm to explore and enjoy nature and animals. We have a firepit and firewood available for you to enjoy a little outdoor relaxation around the fire. If you need anything else not listed we aim to please, just let us know. If you want to purchase beef we stock many items right on the farm. Availability of different cuts of meat and snacks will vary. Cuzn Eddyz is located just off the junction of Highway 2 and 92 at Merna, Nebraska in the heart of the sandhills. It is a quick 10 mile drive to Broken Bow that has several eating and bar establishments. It is also close to Anselmo, Arnold, Callaway and Sargent Nebraska. We have 17 full hookup sites at our campground. Of these, 8 will be pull through and 9 will be back in. There will be unlimited places for primitive tent camping.
