4 nights at JCs Ooasis

Location is excellent. Is a 10 or 15 minute drive from everything we wanted to do. Camping spot itself is clearly more geared for camper/rv but was no issue with a tent. A lot of road noise throughout the day and night but is expected being so close to a main road. The farm they have going is adorable with plenty of animals to meet at the barn. Fresh eggs were delicious

Weekend Trip to pineleaf.

Tim was a great host and I would recommend this site based just on my interactions with him, but the site was great too! The site was well kept and probably one of the most private sites I’ve ever camped at. There is a portable toilet up by the cabin which was incredibly well maintained and frankly smelled amazing (something I didn’t know was possible until my stay lol). It had recently rained when visited but had some time to dry out, so I didn’t have any issues getting back to the site but I would recommend exercising caution if you don’t have 4wheel drive and there is heavy rain in the forecast as it is a rustic site. Overall, I think this site is well worth the cost (especially considering the 420 friendly gift bag and free bundle of wood on your first night) and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

What a great find! Phil was super responsive and even met us out front to lead us in to our site when we finally made it super late. The power had been knocked out due to a storm and Phil gave us the option to look for a different site or still stay at his and use a generator. I am so glad we chose to keep the reservation. Bathroom, shower, activities for the kids all A+!

This was a great campsite for my family! Linda and Steve were gracious hosts who made us feel welcome and were incredibly kind the whole stay. They let us have our privacy but were always pleasant to talk with when we bumped into them. There was plenty of space to set up and enjoy some quality time as a family. We loved being in the woods, and having the amenities of the porta john and the water station a quick walk away made the camp much more convenient with the little ones. The kids loved getting to see all the animals by the barn and get a little window into what it's like to care for them. There was a lot to do just a quick drive away. We would look to camp there again given the chance.

…….. if you ever plan to go back to State Park Camping!!!!! Hidden Meadows was our first Hipcamp and we loved it. We wanted to get away from the busy state parks and crowded campgrounds and Hidden Meadows was exactly what we wanted (and needed)! The whole property was nicely set up to accommodate outhouses, outdoor shower, yard games, firewood (which was a major plus in my book), and cute signs around the grounds that was fun to look at while taking the dogs for walks. We will definitely be back!!

We loved the cabin, it is cute and roomy. Tim is very hospitable. The location is perfect. Enjoyed our stay there very much.

Weekend Trip to Grateful Acres

The space was great! Having electricity and wifi was amazing especially because I am in school and needed to do homework while camping. Only a 10 minute drive to The Highlands Bike Park which was our main attraction. Only 8 minute drive to closest gas station with essentials. Absolutely LOVED hearing the different birds and animals in the morning. Overall, great experience and would definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to pineleaf.

My husband and our two kiddos (4 & 7) stayed for two nights in the cabin. It was so relaxing and felt like we were deep in the woods. Timothy was amazing from the start. I had asked if we could possibly check in early and he was okay with that. We ended up having car trouble on the way to the cabin and didn't check in until dinner time. He was so great about the whole thing and had even turned the heater on in the cabin before we arrived because it was a cool night. The cabin and bathroom were both clean. Timothy was lovely to chat with and was available by phone or in person at any time. He gave us a complimentary bundle of fire wood, a goodie bag, and three gallons of water. Pineleaf and Timothy are both wonderful and we plan to stay again in the future. A tranquil, quiet place to stay and a very accommodating host!

Great place to camp right next to the beach with the price was a price for what it is but it was a great camp !

Great location and felt private, the nights were quiet even with the proximity to the road. Was great place to use as a Basecamp for our visit to Mackinac Island. The porta-john was a bit overdue for a cleaning but better than nothing. Overall would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Heart of Lake Charlevoix

Beautiful meadow for a nice little walk, amazing views, very quiet and private. Chuck greeted me when I arrived, and he provided water and firewood. Just a lovely weekend, even though it was a bit cold and drizzly all weekend. Recommend this place!

I tent camped on the beach on a cool, summer evening and had an amazing night. There were others who camped at the same sight but there was space for all; good people, good times. Would love to go back!

This is a beautiful secluded site right near the lake. We loved the location and privacy. Quiet, clean and a perfect place to camp and then walk the beach.

My favorite place to go camping. If you don’t want a crowded campground this is the place! Property is expansive with so many different paths to take a quiet nature walk or lengthy hike. The property is clean and well maintained. My dogs have all loved camping here. Night skies are perfect for star watching. Even the smoke from Canada made some unique and beautiful sunset photo ops this weekend. Then at night the coyotes will serenade you in the distance as you sit by the fire. It’s a perfect place to unplug and truly connect.

Weekend Trip to Mackinaw Camp Inn

The site was large, private, and had lots of seating and a fire pit. The hosts were wonderful communicators and very helpful.

3 nights at Million $ Sunset Camp

I enjoyed being the only RV at the small site. It's very secluded and cozy. Has a nice fire pit and porta potty. It's a short walk from the beach and boat launch. Campground was well maintained. For the owner, random people drove through and dumped garbage also into the bin. That was not all of mine, I only had one black bag of garbage.

1 night at Hidden Meadow

Phil's place was awesome. Everything that was required to start a fire was provided. The grounds had many yard games that were at your disposal. Shower worked great. Site felt very secluded and had plenty of space.

Tim was an exceptional host! The property is beautiful! The is no shortage of nature and tall leafy trees. No noisy traffic and no camping neighbors near each other. The cabin was equip with more than enough “oops I forgot my…” items. Pet friendly, clean, well taken care of well loved piece of serenity.

You’ll have excellent opportunities for wildlife photos. This is a wilderness area and you will have cell phone reception mainly on the higher ground areas of the property. If you need a break from the quiet and relaxation, you can drive over to Kalkaska (12 miles), Mancelona (8 miles), or Traverse City (30 miles) for dinner and shopping. We have been working on many large and small projects all over our property. We have recently majorly upgraded our road and trail system. Please drive on it gently, respectful of the work we have put into it and of other campers with pets and children. Another project is the rustic boardwalk down to Manistee Lake. This walkway is accessible via Cunningham Rd (the far western border of the property). Bring along some boots that can get a bit dirty, if it rains then it will be muddy, and bring your bug spray. The boardwalk building materials are constructed entirely of onsite native cedar hand-sawn timber – built by your host, Bryce. This leads you to the Manistee Lake frontage. Coming soon: a dock for boating and enjoying the water. We now have 4 outhouses dispersed throughout the property for your convenience. Please understand we are not able to maintain these outhouses and campers must be respectful and clean up after themselves. Bring toilet paper in case there is none in the outhouses. Please respect our Leave-No-Trace policy and remove all trash from your campsite and area. Your leashed pets are allowed but you must be respectful of other campers with pets as well. Do not let your pets run loose and to other campsites. All children and pets must be attended at all times for safety reasons. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, fox, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave children or pets unattended! The northernmost opening has honey bees maintained by an electric fence. Please keep pets and children away from this area. You are welcome to look at it but do not touch the fence or bother the bees, they are busy making honey for all of Michigan. There is direct access to 100s of miles of snowmobiling trails spanning from Leetsville to Kalkaska (MCCCT Access). You’ll have access out the eastern gate but please remember to shut the gate going in and out. Otherwise outside ATV traffic will come in off of state land. All motorized vehicles must stay on the trail system, do not spin tires or tear up the bare ground. The trail system has recently been updated at owner's expense and maintained for your convenience but it is easily rutted. Please be respectful of our trails. You must drive under 10 mph on the property due to safety and insurance regulations. There are areas along the trails that have deep holes close by the trails. Watch your step or driving around these areas. Safe, sober and responsible behavior and driving is imperative on the trails. No alcohol or drug use. Do not put nails or metal in the trees. Do not use firearms without express written permission from the owners and when other campers are around. Hunting season is set for hunting rental on this site. No additional campsites will be offered during this time. Please contact us (owners) for available hunting dates and rates. This property can accommodate up to 8 hunters. After 1 1/2 years of completely remodeling our cabin, we now can offer you a lovely stay in a snug, warm 2 bedroom 700 sq foot cabin, comfortably sleeps 6, 1 queen bed in one bedroom, 1 queen and 1 full sized bed in the other bedroom. We have 11 acres, currently with a really ugly old farm home on site that is a rehab in progress, but a beautiful property. We are located a few miles from Torch Lake and walking distance to a public access on Elk lake. Close proximity to Elk Rapids, Alden, Williamsburg, and Traverse City and all those areas have to offer. We have water fill and a dump station on site, and we are working on electrical hook ups. Our property has many open areas to park, some very level, some not. We have woods and a large hill area with lots of birds and wildlife to see. We can accommodate large rigs, small rigs, and all in between. Pets are welcome but must be leashed as we have two of our own dogs. If you have any questions or needs, do not hesitate to ask, we will always try to accommodate. We were previous Harvest Hosts at our prior property, we have spent time as camp hosts, and have travelled the country in our RV and like to think we have a great understanding of what makes a nice camp experience and we will do everything we can to make sure that is the case, cheers! We're located between the two popular vacation destinations of Glen Arbor and Leland, MI - both a short scenic drive in either direction. The peninsula has tons of recreation: hiking, biking, beaches, boating, fishing, dining, shopping, wine tasting, and visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes! Our farm produces pastured, all natural meat, including pork, beef, goat and fresh eggs/seasonal veggies. See the hens roaming, cows and goats grazing in the fenced-in pasture. A variety of cuts of meat from our freezers are available for sale or get a tour of the farm ~ Just ask! You may simply enjoy the scene at your leisure. SITE DETAILS: Each camp site has woodchips, gravel surrounding a bonfire ring, a clothesline and neatly stacked firewood for sale. Our sites accomodate 2 adults and their minors. We recommend that larger groups or multiple adults book more than one site next to each other (sites 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 are good for this). Quiet hours are enforced between 10pm-7am. This is our home and farm, not a campground, please think of staying here that way. A short walk from camp, you'll find access to a water pump for delicious drinking water straight from our well, so that you may fill containers of water or utilize for rinsing. Our land borders the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. You'll be just a few miles from access to beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. Relax in the sand, hunt for rocks, hike a trail, kayak or paddle-board and watch an epic sunset. School Lake, known for its fishing from non-motorized boats or a quiet place to paddle. 2 Miles away, access the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, a non-motorized 27 mile groomed trail that follows the scenic M-22 from our location all the way to Empire, MI. 2.8 miles from our camp, you'll find a Mountain Bikers paradise at Palmer Woods Forest Preserve, with various hiking trails and a 6 mile mountain bike trail.

This is a shared lot with a private cabin, a community fire pit (so bring your own firewood) and the owner's RV on the property. There is plenty of room to park your boat or trailer with your toys. With the proper tags, you can drive your UTV out from the property to state land and trails. *Download the Polaris app for maps of public trails. Be aware the land to the north and west of the property is private land, so do not trespass. Bring one tent per RV too, though there is no public bathroom, so you use your friend's RV. This is a residential area, so respect for the local residents is a priority and quite hours are enforced if needed. Many use this spot as their home base to access the lakes, trails and rivers. Leashed pets are welcome and need to be cleaned up after. Outdoor cameras are in use, so those who violate the rules will be asked to leave. The host has two friendly dogs too if we are on property. The cabin IS hooked up for electricity with a plug on the outside of the cabin for you to hook your OWN generator to, if desired There is an ADDITIONAL cabin on the property that MUST be rented separately. Guest access This cabin is located on 10 acres with 1 other cabin and a shared screened in Pavillion located nearby. 4wd is required to access. Remote private tract in northern Michigan with Portage Creek to camp at, right up close. No neighbors, no other campers! 10 miles from Grayling so you can run into town for needed supplies with little time or effort. Bring your kayaks and swimsuit for a quick splash. The creek is mostly shallow with some deeper spots. There are downed trees so the kids can kayak without going too far away but they can go out of line of sight and hearing, so please be watchful. The last ½ mile road in can be very sandy in spots or sometimes flooded so you are encouraged to call or enquire prior to arrival, 4WD recommended for towing an RV. We recommend your first arrival during daylight hours so you can see the entrance of the property. The non-maintained county road, the last ½ mile in is typically not passable during winter and snow seasons except by snowshoe or snowmobile due to the snow level. Never leave children or pets unattended! Be aware of the chance encounter with an endangered massasauga rattler, it may be endangered but it is still poisonous and they have been seen on and around the property before. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave your small contained fire unattended at the firepit and watch for sparks, completely douse the fire before you leave as this is a fire-prone area. No fires outside the firepit for safety reasons and fire hazards. If you want firewood here in Grayling, there are a few places that sell it. There is down debris in our woods but as the summer goes by, it may be picked through. You can pull and circle through the open area with your RV, or you can tuck into the RV / camping spot. There is enough room for 5 or 6 cars but campers may crowd that a bit. If you are tent camping, you are welcome to set up elsewhere on the property. There are trails throughout the property and you may see the ‘No Trespassing’ signs all along the perimeter of the 23.7 acres. The toilet is now working again, but we ask that you not overtaxed it ;p . The small cabin is fairly stocked with pots and pans, good for campfire cooking. Picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate on site for your use. There are tons of nearby outdoor recreational opportunities and water bodies very close by, or you can spend your time on this private tract. The military board land and small arms range is just past the road to the west, you may hear small arms practice at times, the sound of freedom.

Please bring your own bath and beach towels, bug spray, and bug free firewood. Kids? Dogs? Additional Guests? You can set up your tent or pop-up camper.
