Hello Campers, We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads. We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park). We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. We just ask that you do not leave your pet alone in the tents at any time unless properly crated. You are financially responsible for any damage that is done to our accommodations by your pets.

While on your glamping trip, there are several places nearby to hiking, fishing, swimming, and if you're brave enough, even biking the ups and downs of the mountain roads. Camping for those that don’t want to have to do everything. Set in the woods with tent & bed, Fire pit, grill, outhouse, shower and electricity. Gary is very attentive and responsive. A great nature escape and only a few minutes from Helen.

We had a great weekend at Gary's campground while exploring Helen and Mount Yonah. Gary was a very responsive host, the breakfast options were great, and the site is an easy drive to both Helen and Yonah. It's dog friendly, the campsite is thoughtfully set up, and we appreciated the hot shower and clean restroom. For anyone considering a stay, a few things to know before you go. Gary's dogs may come visit off leash, so plan ahead if your pup is reactive, and you may hear occasional barking. The campsite is about 100 yards from the host's residence, so it's not fully secluded. You'll also need to text Gary before showering so he can turn the water on. Overall, a lovely weekend stay!

Adorable secluded area in the woods that we enjoyed so much. We wanted to hike some parks and waterfalls with our poodles and this was the perfect place to stay and unwind. The poodles were able to run around off leash and even were greeted and joined by Cookie, one of Gary's dogs that has the best smile of any dog I've ever met. My poodles love friends so it was a bonus for us that they got to make and play with new friends! Gary is incredibly responsive and make sure you don't sleep on his breakfast! Absolutely delicious, I had the french toast and my husband had the farmers skillet breakfast. Wonderful way to start the day before heading off to burn those calories hiking in the mountains. I loved having electricity in the tent so we could charge our phones at night.

The Owl's Nest was a great place with a great host, as long as you don't expect excellence. What is wonderful is the setting, the quiet, and the flexibility of the host. We did experience two off leash dogs that enjoyed raiding the trash cans and wanting to be with us (and our small dog) all the time. Wonderful dogs, but without boundaries, which makes it hard to relax in the beauty when you're having to make sure they stay away. The firewood was free (yay!) but completely wet (boo!) because it was stored uncovered. The host let us hook up our RV with an extension cord, which was awesome. The well water was, well, well water and heavily chlorinated. Good for washing dishes! The bathrooms were adequate, but need better maintenance. Kitchen was handy for cleaning and having a fridge/freezer. Lake and canoe was totally amazing and represented to best part of the experience.

5 nights at Creekside Cabin - Lake Hartwell

The cabin was great for the most part. I have very little to complain about. The only thing I could say is that pots and pans need a little work and the spatulas are definitely horrible. If you’re planning on cooking, bring your own utensils and cookware.. Cabin itself was great and cozy. Just a very steep area to park so I recommend parking on the street side. I would definitely go to this cabin again, and the host was very great and informative the whole trip. If I had any questions or concerns, she got back to me very quickly.. I recommend coming to this cabin.

Host was very nice. I would just recommend if you’re primitive camping then you should bring a rake or leaf blower so you aren’t putting your tent down on sticks and leaves. It was a nice spot. The clubhouse and bathrooms were clean.

Fabulous little slice of heaven! I enjoyed my over night stay so much! I wish I could have stayed longer. Met one of the friendly neighbors and had a couple nice conversations. Beautiful sunset and even a view of the sunrise during my morning walk. Listing is as described. Quiet, peaceful, charming lot. Will definitely return again!

We had such a great stay! Gary truly went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can tell how much thought he has put into the property — we loved all the little details throughout, from the cute mushrooms to the fun signs along the way. They made the whole place feel extra special and charming. Our kids, ages 4 and 7, absolutely loved the tire swing and had the best time exploring the hiking trail. We also really loved how private the property is. Having the entire camping area to ourselves, without other campers around, made it feel like our own little getaway in the woods. Such a fun and unique experience for our family. Thank you, Gary, for being such a thoughtful and welcoming host!

Darrin’s property was a lovely lakeside treat for our family. The views were beautiful and our days were filled with fun on the water, and games in their screened-in game room (what a huge bonus that was!) Though nestled in a neighborhood we felt very secluded with how quiet and private it was. Pulling up we were a tad nervous with how tight of a spot we needed to pull into. (For reference our camper is 29 feet and our truck is just as long) However, it was well worth it! Our weekend here was amazing!

It is a great property to camp. disc golf courses are really good. you can camp-play repeat. Lula is the best place to be. only thing that can be improved is a little mowing at the campsite. I recommend this area for camping as it is safer than other camping sites.

Lula Disc House was great. This was our first experience with Timberline Glamping, and we will be doing this a lot more. The host, Corbin, was really good. We made arrangements well ahead of time, and he responded to online inquiries in a reasonable amount of time. The camping is co-located with an active disc golf course and nearby to the Carter State Park, perhaps the only state park on Lake Lanier. Check in was great. We got in when the club house was closed, but instructions for checking in were posted and easy to follow. We got text response and some good tips within a few minutes and we were already at our site which was clean and obviously well prepped for our stay. We cooked meals on site, and we had our two pugs with us. We enjoyed nice walks in the wooded camping area. Everyone had some great family time as our two adult children joined us. In addition to visiting the state park, we visited a winery a short drive away near Mount Yonah. The sites we saw were amazing. I think it was unusually hot for Labor Day, so having the A/C in the tent was sweet. Got some great sleep! So we saw some folks including several kind disc golfers, but by and large we just enjoyed some peaceful family time.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Cabin - Lake Hartwell

Overall, we had a great stay. The host was very communicative and helpful, and the cabin was comfortable with beautiful views and a very cozy bed. A few things caught us off guard. I had assumed the cabin was directly on Lake Hartwell, but it isn’t, and because the exact location isn’t shared beforehand, our drive ended up being nearly 5 hours instead of the 3–3½ we expected. That also made our kayaking plans difficult since we were too far from the rental companies we had planned to use. The host did try to help us find a solution, which we appreciated. My biggest suggestion would be improving the outdoor maintenance. Given the cleaning fee, I expected the deck to be free of spider webs and wasp nests. We removed a wasp nest ourselves so we could enjoy coffee on the balcony, and the outdoor cushions had been left out by a previous guest and were wet and dirty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. I do think the price is a bit high for the overall experience, but with a little more attention to the outdoor areas, it would be an excellent getaway.
