Hello Campers, We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads. We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park). We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. We just ask that you do not leave your pet alone in the tents at any time unless properly crated. You are financially responsible for any damage that is done to our accommodations by your pets.

It is safe to drink, however if you are sensitive to hard water, we recommend bringing bottled water. - This cabin is on a septic system; it cannot handle food scraps, wipes, nor toiletries. There is a basket in the kitchen sink drain to stop food from going down; empty this basket into the trash as needed and at the end of your stay. Toilets can only handle septic-safe toilet paper. Do not flush hygiene products, wipes, nor excessive tissue, EVEN ONES MARKED AS FLUSHABLE, as this will cause a blockage and render all plumbing unusable. - ***All trash must be BAGGED and TIED in kitchen-sized 13 gallon bags, then placed in the outdoor trash bins. The trash company does not have a dump truck; they pick up each bag individually. Please be mindful of this. Dog poop bags must be enclosed in trash bags as well*** - Pets require an $80 additional cleaning fee; there is a $180 fee for bringing an unannounced pet. Ensure all pet waste is picked up. We have seen bobcats and bears, please be mindful of your pets. - We are vape & 420 friendly, however tobacco products are permitted OUTDOORS ONLY. - Outdoor cushions are located in the storage bench under the outdoor tv. In order to preserve them, please place cushions back into the storage bench when not in use. - Magnetic darts, cornhole bean bags, and board games are located inside of the coffee table and outdoor bench. - The cabin has a Take One, Leave One library; feel free to bring a book you’re finished reading and trade out for one of ours. Of course, this means there may be all sorts of books on our shelves, which may not represent the opinions or values of your host. If you see something you find offensive or inappropriate, please tuck it away and let us know. - You may eat and play on the whiskey barrel arcade game, however do not move, lean on, or hit the glass top. - If you are sensitive to political signs/flags (US, Confederate, or otherwise), this may not be the right listing for you. Although we do not post affiliations, some surrounding homes do. - Because this is a rural area, we recommend turning off any lights that are not directly in use, as bugs are very prevalent and attracted to light, especially at night. **If you are sensitive to insects (indoor and outdoor), this listing may not be the right fit.** - There is community area access, however it is not always maintained. For boating especially, we recommend the nearest Boat Launch at 499 Choestoea Rd, Westminster, SC, where there are docks, a public launch, and a sandy beach. - The inflatable hot tub can reach temperatures up to 104°F. Due to the nature of inflatable hot tubs, it will lose about 5°F per hour that the lid is off; weather conditions and use of the jets may expedite this cooling. Unlike a traditional hot tub, there are no seats inside. There are flower-shaped sponges in the hot tub, which help keep the water clean. **If you prefer to take these out while in the water, they must be placed back in when you exit. DO NOT throw these over the railing.** After use, please toss 2 sanitizer shock tablets into the water (located above the stove). There will be a video on hot tub operation in your check in directions.

Gary's warm welcome made it feel like home, and his hospitality was top-notch. He lives on site, but strikes the perfect balance between giving you all the privacy you need and being available for a chat whenever you want. The campsite's secluded setting allowed me to truly unwind and enjoy my own company. The food offerings were a delightful surprise, with tasty dishes and beautiful presentation. Overall, it's an ideal spot to relax and recharge.

This was the best experience, we were able to have a girls trips group of (4) Gary was the most amazing, he accommodated us graciously, we were able to check in at 9pm he was able to make an appearance and show us around the camp site and communicated how we would like breakfast in the morning which was incredible it was presented beautifully and of course it’s taste was outstanding we felt very welcomed very safe and comfortable he was even able to help us start our fire! The was the ultimate experience! I’m truly grateful to have found Gary’s rare treasure and I will be coming back. The hot tub was relaxing we were provided drinks and towels.

The Barn is a quite nice, rustic, large hall for dining and socializing, with a large deck and plenty of seating nooks and conversation pits. It's like what Starbucks used to feel like when their storefronts were comfortable, but with a KOA feel! The bathhouses are clean and tidy, if a bit small, with multiple showers in each. The 2 hot tubs are small, 2-3 person units quite close to a number of the small cabins, so they are better suited to relaxation and recovery than romance! Communication from the owner was great. The info and datasheets covered every contingency for me, and had tons of info beyond that. Well done! And a chat message question was answered within minutes by a live person. 5 stars. Most the campsites are close to each other, sometimes sharing fire pits and picnic tables. The CAR/VAN sites are all quite close and small, so don't expect to extend a big awning or lay out your 20x25' outdoor carpet at these. A nice surprise was the mountain biking training area plus a nice trail on-site. Sadly, I saw no koi in the Koi Pond! Finally, the drive in ends with about 1.5 miles of well maintained gravel road.

Gary was a very kind and responsive host. It was a lovely campground, with the stream flowing nearby, and it was close to fun activities in Helen and nearby vineyards. As many others stated, the food was fantastic - I highly recommend the quiche! I'm sure others will enjoy camping at Hertzen Platz:)

Herzen Plaz ways so beautiful! I can't wait to come back again. Staying at this yurt was like stepping into a woodland dream. Tucked away in a secluded, mystical forest clearing, the space offered perfect peace and quiet—with just the soothing sound of a babbling stream nearby. One of our favorite moments was sitting on the patio swing right next to the stream, coffee in hand, completely immersed in nature’s calm. The entire campsite was thoughtfully designed and full of charm. Soft patio lights twinkled overhead, and we had everything we needed: a grill for cooking, corn hole for a little fun, a hot shower that felt amazing after a day outdoors, and the most adorable, clean little outhouse. Inside the yurt, we were welcomed with a cozy interior complete with a coffee station, wine setup, and inviting, comfy touches throughout. Our host was simply exceptional. Every detail—like offering breakfast and s’mores—made the experience feel not just cared for, but loved. It’s rare to find a place that offers so much tranquility, comfort, and magic all at once. We didn’t want to leave, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect, reconnect with nature, and be wrapped in woodland serenity.
