A mountaintop ranch in Colorado that sits below the famous Colorado “14er”, Pikes Peak. This property sits on top of a mountain at an elevation of nearly 10,000ft and features 3 unique Glamping sites! The ranch features a tiny cabin, geodesic dome tent and platform canvas tent. The sites sit on 100 acres of private, pristine Colorado mountain land that offers over 3 miles of private hiking trails and unrivaled views in all directions. A large, mature aspen grove covers most of the property and views to the south stretch over 100 miles! Despite being on a mountain, over 70% of the property sits on level or gently sloping ground making it perfect for camping spots and events. The Eastern edge borders public land, infinitely expanding access and hiking opportunities. It’s only 1,500 feet from a large reservoir and river- both are accessible by hiking or an easy 5 minute drive. 105 West Ranch also has some deep and unique history. Our area was originally surveyed in 1881. After that, miners came through in the late 1800s and dug prospector pits looking for gold. Many of these pits and even some old tin cans from miner's camps are still visible on the property today. In 1931, the area was re-surveyed with more accuracy. In 1936, the President of the United States, FDR, granted a land patent (homestead) of 632 acres to homesteader. Part of this 632 acre homestead granted by the President was what is now 105 West Ranch. Fast forward nearly 100 years. My wife, Rachel, and I bought this property in 2019, fulfilling a life-long dream of owning our own land. Rachel and I live for the outdoors, we work in the outdoor industry and spend every chance we get exploring our beautiful state with our two dogs. Little Scraggy Camp

We are closed for the Winter. We look forward to welcoming you in 2024 - with bookings starting mid-May! The Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, tents, and hammocks. Additionally, we have sites for small groups (up to 14 people) and large groups (35-200 people). Potable drinking water is available from onsite 270-gallon water tanks. Portable toilets are only a short walk away from sites. Friendly dogs are welcome to enjoy your campsite off leash, but please clean up after your dog. If your pet has any aggressive tendencies, it must be leashed. Recently added is a 4 hole disc golf putting course for you to practice your shots or try your hand, with 4 sets of discs provided. We also have a cornhole toss game at both the glamping/rv camp area and tent/rv area. We are an ideal basecamp for the casual or dedicated trail enthusiast. The ranch itself has several trails and easy trail loops to explore within and just outside of the ranch’s fence lines, with direct access to the 9.5-mile Little Scraggy Trail and Segment #3 of the Colorado Trail. Just 3.5 miles away is the Little Scraggy Trailhead, where you will find easy access for biking, hiking, or horseback riding on the many other trails of the Buffalo Creek area. Additionally, we have an extensive network of hiking and horse trails that avoid conflicts with mountain bikers. You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek. This is a working ranch where we raise and train horses and ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request. Our site called Mountain Horse Camp, provides 3 individual porta-panel horse corrals. There is limited cell service.

The other half is rolling grassy meadows that we use to graze our horses and cows. There is an original, caved in homestead site on the property and we have set up some vintage patio furniture in the meadow in front of the homestead, which is a great place for happy hour or to watch the sunset! Our menagerie of animals is always changing, but we currently have 4 dogs, 5 horses, a mule, 1 goat, 6 ducks and some barn cats, and a small herd of miniature cows. You are welcome to visit with them, but we do not allow guests into any of the corrals or pastures with the animals and we do not offer any horseback riding. You are welcome to bring a pet with you, but please know that you are responsible for keeping your pet safe around all of the other animals and livestock that live onsite. !!!!!!!HUNTERS WELCOME!!!!! If you harvest an animal during your stay you are welcome to hang it in our shop for the remainder of your stay. The Milky Way Cabin

Indulge in the charm of a custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspens. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining retreat is situated on 2 acres, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24. There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. They are comfortable. The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. Extra blankets are in the box on wheels (also acts as an ottoman) just inside the door. There is a space to pitch a large tent a hundred feet from the cabin. We carved out a big circle in the front of the cabin (the observatory). Bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and star gaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Upon booking, detailed arrival and departure instructions will be sent to you via email on how to use the unique systems in the cabin. Please note, during the months of November to April, guests are advised to bring their own drinking water. There will be no running water during freezing season.

Stargazer - Immerse yourself in nature's beauty within a safari tent beneath a canopy of pine and scrub oak. 5. The Family Glamper - With queen and bunk beds, a family of 4 fits nicely, and maybe 6 can squeeze in. The creek is a stone's throw away. 6. Braveheart - Find solace beside the creek in a bell tent or yurt, your off-grid hideaway featuring a camp toilet and creekside porch. 7. Beauty - Delight in the tranquility of a bell tent or yurt, your secluded sanctuary with an off-grid camp toilet and creekside porch. 8. Butterfly - Unplug and unwind in a safari tent, complete with off-grid privacy and a grill, a stone's throw away from the flowing creek. NEW for 2024: The house has been remodeled and is available for group outings. The 3/2 home has full kitchen and spacious living area with front and back decks for gatherings. Available for rent only with complimentary rentals of our glamping venues. Perfect for reunions, wedding parties, church or office retreats, and other large-group gatherings. Our standard extras include a second vehicle, extra guests, propane service, early arrival or late check out, and pets. But consider additional enhancements like our Romantic Surprise, Colorado Cookout, Private Hot Tub, and Homemade Wine Tastings.
