There are  24,000 acres of BLM public land and also The White River National Forest with over 3,500 square miles, both with thousands of miles of recreation trails for mountain biking, hiking, ATVing, MOTO X Dirtbiking, SidebySide UTVing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, 4x4 Jeeping/Mudding and snowmobiling.  Walk out of your tent, your RV or my cabin and you are in of BLM and The White River National Forest.  Plenty of flat, shaded ground with water and electiric available.  The biggest shade trees in Eagle County, firepits, and a creek with pond and waterfall with sand beach await.  Incredible views of Castle Peak, The Flat tops Wilderness, Red Canyon and Hardscrabble Mountain right from the Property.Vail and Beaver Creek Ski Resorts with the best skiing and powder in the world and Glenwood Springs with the world famous Hot Springs Pool and Glenwood Caverns Amusement Park ( amusement park on top of a mountain) and the new Iron Mountain Hot Springs Each 25 minutes away.  Aspen is a little over an hour away.Eagle is the county seat of Eagle County and is know for the Eagle and Colorado River and the amazing system of biking and hiking trails.

Riverside Rest for RVs

The original homestead cabin from 1903 is still here! This became our home when my husband retired because it is his dream. Our Highland cattle have personality plus!!
 The river wrapping around the ranch at the foot of the mountain washes away the stress and leaves a peace here that fills the spirit with calm. We love the land, the bald eagles, the wildlife, our guests and each other!

 Sleep in your RV with the sound of the river lulling you to recharge and just breath in the peace. We have a great boat ramp with a put-in and a place to kayak, tube, raft or fish! Great hiking trails nearby and a quiet country road to bike that the big bike races use. Our Scottish Highland cows give kisses are happy to share your carrots, apples and watermelon! We only rent two spots to keep it peaceful here.

Colorado River Camp Has It All!

One of the valleys last original stone homes dating back to 1845. We have been restoring the buildings made from the limestone. The main house which is not yet finished has beautiful etched glass windows of the cattle drives.

James Hinds the homesteader and original owner of the ranch created the ware and hinds ditch which supplies our abundant Valley water. He was a prominent attorney and got our water rights given to us forever from President Harris.. 

It includes water that extends to the middle of the Colorado River and the one mile of our shoreline. Everyday that we live here we give thanks for his wisdom and foresight. The once huge ranch that used to extend across I -70 and to the far side of the Colorado River is now reduced to our beautiful 110 acres, but it is the most beautiful and historic part of his astounding empire.

River Side

Learn more about this land:At River Side you will have an overlook of the Colorado River with river access. You will wake up to a breathtaking view of the river winding west towards the Anvil Points and Roan Plateau. The property is an easy 7 minute drive from old town New Castle where you can find a grocery store, gas and basic amenities. The town of New Castle is up and coming with several restaurants and a new local's favorite, Colorado Drifters Coffee and Fly shop. You can rent paddle boards, and book guided fishing trips on the river right there. A 20 minute drive from New Castle you can find a popular lake called Harvey Gap. The lake is great for paddle boarding and fishing. Ten minutes away from Harvey Gap is another beautiful area called Rifle Falls which is truly a hidden gem. Climbing and rafting are also available up Canyon. There are many great hikes around the area. Our favorite is Rifle Arch which is about 25 minutes away right outside of the town of Rifle. New Castle has mountain biking trails everywhere and is home to some of the best mountain biking trails in the Roaring Fork Valley. Glenwood Springs  is 11 miles away and is the home of the famous hot springs. Aspen is about an hour from our property. Please note our home is located on this property as well. You will have an OPEN (no trees) grassy flat spot to the right of our home that overlooks the river with a view. Just realize you also have a view of our backyard to your west. Due to very high fire danger on the Western Slope we kindly ask you to refrain from using a fire while staying on our property. Please clean up after yourselves, your dogs, and be respectful of noise. Campers or self contained bathrooms are best. River Dance Ranch Mini Camper

River Dance Ranch Mini Camper is located on a small ranch property between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale. The property sits on 7 acres of land above the ditch line and with views of the Roaring Fork River and Mt. Sopris. The family lives on site and the camper is situated near the host's home. This Hipcamp is located an easy 1/2 mile from the Rio Grande Trail bike path, making bike rides simple! There is a small brewery and food cart about 1/2 mile from the property as well. The camper is cute and cozy. We have a variety of pets on the property including one dog, two cats, one chicken and two ducks. So, we ask that you do not bring pets.

This is the inside dining area.  The table folds down to make a bed.  The bed is perfect for one person and cozy for two.

This Hipcamp is on a small hobby ranch. The ducks and chicken will be your neighbors.
