Need some privacy and would like something indoors that is still rustic, western and relaxing. Private  cozy and very comfortable room in cabin style home on 50 acres surrounded by hundreds more.  The end of the road privacy and quiet creates a great experience for those that require less noise and traffic. Horses and antelope are plentiful & graze on the property. The view of the Big Horn mountains is your living room. The fire ring is well situated with lots of firewood. The privy is indoors with shower (lots of hot water) and clean linens.    Woodrow is my black lab who acts as a cohost extrodinarie. Western hospitality is served here in ample portions. Tranquility, big views and big space create an extrodinary experience of rest, adventure, conscious living and expanded awareness of what life is really all about. Simplicity and nature rock!  . Home is western and rustic with comfortable beds, woodstove cooking and a glass of your favorite wine or hand crafted beer. Clear creek trail in in historic Buffalo, Wy provides excellent walking before a great meal in the West. This property is great for a base camp to explore and expand your horizons and go down the pristine and rugged country of the Big Horn Mountains. Bring your boots! Rooms have new memory foam mattresses.  This is Wyoming so the views and hiking are expansive. Horse back riding can be arranged and so can meals for larger groups and events. Organic breakfast is served along with tea or coffee.

This is not your typical campsite. It is pure western magic. Mikel is a fantastic host. She excels at making you feel immediately welcome and at home. Her property is rejuvenating and has a special energy that puts you at ease. We absolutely loved chatting with Mikel (who went above and beyond to make us an incredible dinner!) over beers, building a campfire, and enjoying the canvas tepees set on the property. Campers are invited to set up their own tents, park a van or RV, or hunker into a tepee. Regardless of your sleeping choice, you will wake up feeling rested, taking in beautiful views of the Big Horn mountains. If you're looking for true western hospitality you'll find no better than staying with Mikel and her loveable Labrador Woodrow. Do yourself a favor and book at least two nights.

Campung at Spiritriders was not only our first Hipcamp experience, but also our first major camping experience! It could not have gone better. Mikel and her sweet gentle dog, Woodrow, met us at the drive in one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The weather was unseasonable cold and a bit rainy so she put us up in her barn and gave us blankets. She offered us anything we could possibly need and the breakfast she assembled the following morning really helped us get back on the road.
Thanks, Mikel! It's so lovely meeting like-minded people in new-to-us places.

Crazy Woman Canyon Camp was a hoot. It is a little out of the way (DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE DIRECTIONS) but well worth the experience. Mikel is warm and welcoming. She is fun and interesting to talk with, and goes out of her way to make your stay a great experience. Yogurt, fruit and muffins for breakfast were a welcome surprise.

We had high winds the two nights we were there. These are not taunt tents so lots of flapping noise, but hey I actually loved the sound of the wind while remaining warm and safe. One night there were 9 other guests so we ended up with a group camping experience. Enjoyed meeting everyone and easy to slip off to our own tent. Would go back!

Mikel's sweet dog sharing the sunshine and expansive views with us.

Howdy folks: thank you for your kind words. We had a gully washer...torrential downpour, thunder and lightening and I thought of you folks. Grateful that you are safe and sound back in home camp. Would love to have you folks come again....margaritas await!! Warm regards, Mikel
