Completed in 1934 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Jack Creek Guard Station sits in a clearing with lodgepole pine, aspen, and mixed conifer, and is a popular location for wildlife viewing, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is approximately five miles west of the cabin, and the surrounding forest encompasses mountain ranges, valleys, canyons, snowy peaks, and river tributaries.
