You'll watch the sunset over the Winds, and have unparalleled views across Ray Lake over to the foothills of Lander. This is on the Reservation, so you'll need a permit to recreate right out our back door, but if you drive ten minutes south to Lander, tons of fun can be had climbing, hiking, biking, running, kayaking, etc... Or drive up to the Bears Ears trail head and get some of the finest access to the Wind River Range around! Or, don't worry about hanging here long, just stop and get a good night's sleep before heading up and over Togwotee Pass to Yellowstone or the Tetons!
We've got dogs, chickens, and dairy goats - so there's a chance you'll hear any or all of those three types of creatures, but the further you camp away from the buildings, the less background noise you'll get! No guarantees on the coyotes, though :) farm fresh chicken, duck and goose eggs and goat milk products are often available, but please let us know in advance if you're interested.
Also, please keep us posted on an arrival eta! We both work early in the morning and are often in bed early. Ideally, you would be able to stop by at or before 8:30 pm, but we can certainly provide great instructions over the phone if you plan on stopping by later. We also have two families living on the property that appreciate earlier arrivals!

Great place to stop on our way to jackson Hole. Wish we could have connected but due to our late arrival and our hosts work hours we did not actually meet. The horses csme to say hi in the morning though😊

It was a great place to camp. They have a nice piece of land and were very helpful in getting us set up as we arrived after dark.
We were fortunate to find Ellie’s spot which was an ideal halfway point for us before our final destination in the Tetons. She was friendly and welcoming in her communication with us and in person. Wish we could have chatted with her more if we had not been tired from our long drive. She lent us a picnic table and recommended a plot of grass to set up our tent. We were lucky and had the entire site to ourselves. Great to have access to the spigot for clean drinking water. The location right off 287 is super convenient - the noise from the highway died down around 9-10pm and we got a restful night’s sleep. In the morning the neighboring horses came by to say hello and hang with us - magical :) Thankful to Ellie for sharing her land!
We needed a place to camp for the night and Ellie's place was perfect. It's close to the highway and still private. There's even an outhouse/toilet which I appreciated.
Ellie's directions were helpful and she made herself available for us if we needed it.
