CopperLine Lodge is a stacked timber building that was erected in the 1950s. The grounds are surrounded by the remnants of ancient North Platte River beds that left behind springs and sloughs (sprayed for mosquitoes daily in the warm months) and natural areas, right in town. Old Baldy owned the property for over 50 years, housing their summer employees until 2015, when the current owner bought the property and has renovated the entire thing. People are drawn to Saratoga's hot springs, which include a free Hobo Pool that underwent a fancy remodeling in 2009 featuring shower facilities, restrooms and two pools of differing temperatures--always open, always free. The Hobo Pool is 9 blocks--a short walk--from the Lodge campground.

CopperLine Bicycle Tent Camp
Dan was one of the most amicable and friendly hosts/human beings that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. He made us an amazing breakfast and made sure we were settled and ready to go before leaving the lodge for the night. Our plans for the following night fell through and Dan helped us find a place to stay.

CopperLine Bicycle Tent Camp
CopperLine is a nice little lodge just off the beaten path in Saratoga. At the time of my visit, the space wasn't set up for full-fledged camping. According to the owner, Dan, he intends to carve out a spot just outside the lodge to allow for tents. Though I didn't get to actually meet Dan, he seemed like a cool guy over the phone. We made ourselves at home in the cozy lodge and even partook in quiche that Dan had prepared before being unexpectedly called out of town! Probably the biggest perk of the lodge is it's proximity to Saratoga Hot Springs - definitely a must stop while in town. All in all it was a fun visit despite the horrendous winds and horizontally blowing snow (Wyoming can be relentless in November)! I'm looking forward to heading back when the weather warms up.
