We had such a nice stay here! The cabin is as beautiful as the photos show, with a well-designed interior and an incredible private view from the large porch. We made good use of the soaking tub, sauna, and delicious breakfasts during our five-night stay. Rod and Lynn were excellent hosts, very welcoming and always offering up great tips on things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again and hope our travels bring us back.
If you're considering booking here, just do it. We loved our stay at the Japanese Cabin. We stayed here in the middle of a cross country move, before we headed out to camp in Yellowstone/Shoshone (armed with expert recommendations from our hosts). It was the perfect respite—complete with sauna and soaking tub. The house and property are beautiful, and Rod and Lynn are amazing hosts. Soak in the cedar tub at sun rise, watch the stars come out after a day of hiking, and enjoy the best cowboy breakfast you could ask for. And make sure you buy some burgers; they raise the best beed I have ever tasted.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay, and would love to visit again some day!

This was my first time using HipCamp, and Rod did not disappoint. The cabin was on an absolutely drop-dead stunning stretch of land on Rod's property. There are wide open plains, mountains, cattle, and adorable dogs. The porch sits facing the mountain and it is the perfect place to sit as the sun dips down behind you, or as it rises in front of you (we woke up for sunrise--so worth it!). We met Rod and his family, and they were all incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Rod is a very interesting and engaging man, and I recommend taking time to chat with him while you visit! The cabin itself is small and very interesting. Sauna and double shower were very welcome after my partner and I finished a back-country backpacking trip in Yellowstone. There was a coffee machine, kitchen necessities, and a very comfortable bed. Even looks like the fireplace would have been great in the winter. I only wish we had longer to stay. I highly highly recommend.

Peaceful and quiet with a true Big Sky view. Rod makes you feel very welcome and feeds you well if you avail yourself of his hearty cowboy breakfast—yummy pancakes, organic sausage patties, and thicker-than-a-French-Press cowboy coffee. The Japanese Cabin is the perfect size for a couple, complete with soaking tub, sauna, and kitchen. Watch the views from the large windows on two sides of the cabin or sit on the deck. The three dogs are friendly and love to play fetch too.

The cabin was beautiful, loved the experience and the atmosphere, grounds were amazing. Rod was very nice and knowledgeable about the area and helped us plan out our day at Yellowstone.

Perfect place to go for our honeymoon to reflect on ten wonderful years of marriage. Rod was a great host, super kind, and the cabin was fantastic.

The cabin was beautiful and the property was even more beautiful! Definitely would recommend it!
The Japanese cabin provided a unique getaway that couldn't be replicated anywhere in Wyoming! We greatly enjoyed our time there and are looking forward to coming back. Thanks Rod!
