This property is the original Jerome Nelson estate of Nelsonville. Originally the mill was part of the property with a pond shins the barn. In 1956 the Stratton family converted the house into a rest home. Between 1977 and 2017 the home was rumored to be a drug den, flop house and even bordello. In 2017 Zay and I purchased the property with the hopes of utilizing the six room residence hall into an artist residence facility. We also offer room rentals.  Learn more about this land: This is a 10 acre plot shared between us and our friends. There is one campsite, but we may be camping on the other side of the property at any given time. The property has a deeded access to a lake. Someone will greet you to show you around.

    The site was extremely well kept, Rubina was extremely helpful and overall had a great weekend. Was nice and quiet and provided the great opportunity for a weekend camping with friends.

    Sweet Spot with Friendly Owners
    Really nice spot past a barn on a little homestead. We got in late and it was pouring rain, but Rubina and her family were very helpful in getting us set up, even setting up a Coleman lantern and helping us push the teardrop camper into place. Neat seeing their large organic garden and chicken run. Friendly folks and nice area for paddling and exploring!

    Little slice of paradise
    Rubina is an exceptional host! She greeted us and showed us around the beautiful area. Our campsite was beautifully secluded by a thick lush forest. Just a short stroll to the nearest lake!

    Rubina and co. were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The campsite was beautiful, well stocked, private and cozy. We had an incredible time and everything was perfect. Thank you for everything!

    Had a great experience
    We loved our first Hipcamp experience. We were in their backyard but it felt secluded. There are chickens and lovely serenity within a small town. Would definitely go back!

    Rubina was very friendly. Very beautiful location. We stayed in our newly renovated pop-up, which limited where we could camp. Overall, a good experience that I would recommend.
