Please come to this site!!!!
Tara was great and made sure we had everything we needed from a commode to pre chopped firewood! This location is extremely private and serene. Although it’s close to a highway, you’re instantly greeted with peace and quiet. Our lovely host provided a paddleboat and kayaks to explore and gave us an amazing and welcoming tour. We are for sure coming back soon
A serene site!!
Absolutely loved this location! Very secluded and quiet but right off the highway. Tara was lovely and provided a paddleboat, kayaks, firewood and a commode. We loved every single moment and would highly recommend to anyone!
Tara & her husband & son were very nice. They met us when we arrived and showed us to the camp site, and then around the property, which is huge. We were in a clearing on top of a hill. It was a short walk to the nearest lake, and a great spot for star gazing. There are 4 lakes on this property, as well as older forests with high canopies and lively dappled sun. Coming from a suburb of chicago, we really appreciated the quiet - you cannot hear any road noise at all here - and we loved the rolling hills throughout. There were a few other campers when we were there, but we never ran into any of them. Tara provided fire wood and a trash bin, too, which was a nice bonus. Definitely would recommend.
Tara’s campsite was PERFECT. It was very private, nice and cool in the shade, and it has a dock on a beautiful lake. The paddleboat was such a nice touch! I would love to visit again.
Although it poured both night we were there, we really enjoyed the peace and quite. Being on the lake was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely return. Make sure you bring a TON of bug spray!!!
Tara was an awesome host. The sight was beautiful and private. There was fire wood and a paddleboat to use. 4 days of solitude...just what i was hoping for. I would highly reccommend this site. Thanks, Tara.
Tara's place is gorgeous!!! I loved being on a very quiet lake. There was one other group of campers across the lake who were really nice, so we nearly had the lake to ourselves. I recommend reserving both sites at "The Woods." I'm glad we did. The peninsula is sloped and we have a big tent so the only level spot big enough is towards the top, at the turnaround point for vehicles (in the dirt road). We had use of a paddleboat and life jackets. Thanks, Tara! We swam a lot. A bald eagle flew right past our site, too. There's no need to bring kindling or wood. There's plenty of it in the site. Do bring bug spray and toilet paper. Site as described. Tara came to greet us and is super nice! There's a small table in the site and I'm glad we brought an additional table. Both Verizon and US Cellular get limited service here (enough to call and text but data is very limited). Who cares, though... we're there to enjoy nature and quality family time. :-) I would definitely recommend The Woods!!
