What a magical forest retreat! The cabin is absolutely incredible. It is situated back in the forest, among the ferns and quiet privacy. The directions took us right to the location and our hosts were waiting, happy and ready to greet us. They took us on a tour of their property and told us about the incredible construction that they have done on their property. The cabin was incredibly comfortable and an amazing place to stay! We would highly recommend it as a place to unplug, relax, and enjoy some peace & quiet.
Lot of charm but missing something
First and foremost, the hosts were fantastic. They were friendly and cooperated with us extremely well, which we appreciated. However, the site was not quite up to what was advertised. It appeared there would be a mini-fridge, there wasn't. The site said there was a working wash station, there wasn't. There was supposed to be a water pump, but it was broken. The shower had no privacy at all except the building in between the site and the hosts home. If we had been better prepared for that situation we would have enjoyed our stay, but we weren't. If you are truly prepared for an off-the-grid rustic setting, then this is a great place, with plenty of charm.
I knew the cabin and camping at Fisher Cat Creek was going to be awesome from the photos, but it was so much better in person!!! First of all, Veronica and David are so nice and welcoming, and they were so flexible and answered all of my many logistical questions before we arrived. They live nearby but it was as if we were completely alone on their property other than a quick hello and farewell, and we made a LOT of noise at our campsite into the early morning hours and they confirmed that they didn’t hear a thing, so the level of privacy is top notch. The cabin itself was so lovely, stocked with tons of cooking and cleaning necessities and much more spacious than it looks in photos. The beds are like soft clouds, it was nice and cool inside despite being in the 80s during the day, and all of the unique touches of character and charm inside leave you finding something new every time you walk in. The screened in porch was a favorite spot to hang out in during the hottest hours of the day, being almost as cool as the inside of the cabin, with full view of the campsite in the back and very comfy chairs and a couch you can easily take a nap on. The campsite was also loaded with personality, with tons of art inserted in nooks and crannies around the fire pit and all along the forest paths. It felt like we were in a fairytale garden, especially when nighttime hit and the solar lights started to shine in places we didn’t even notice them hanging. Overall, I loved spending the weekend here. Veronica and David have built something pretty amazing here and it was a pleasure to experience it as a guest. I can’t wait to come back!
Our Hosts were so sweet. They showed us around when we arrived there and made us feel at home on their property. I had my 2 young boys with me for the night and it was a great adventure. We had so much fun exploring the different trails and playing in the creek. Would definitely come back.
This was an absolutely magical place to stay for the night -- I only wish we'd planned to be there longer. The space was gorgeous, and thoughtfully well-appointed. Despite being off the grid, we never felt like we lacked in comfort. The wood strove provided ample heat, the bed was cozy, and we had plenty of solar lamps at the ready. And wow, just such a lovely place, inside and out. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us, Veronica and David!

Our stay at Fisher Cat Creek was beyond expectations. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend get away. The cabin is wonderful. My dad and I spent hours admiring all of the details and craftsmanship that went in to the structure. There is plenty of timber to wonder around in. My brothers and I spent a good portion of the second day walking around and watching the deer. If you're feeling a quick swim, Big Falls County Park is also only a few miles away. Most importantly, Veronica and Dave were wonderful hosts and we can't thank them enough.
Veronica's place was absolutely outstanding. I feel super lucky I got the opportunity to stay here, it's such a gem. We loved everything about this hand crafted space! It was warm, cozy, rustic and functional. The trails surrounding the cabin were lovely as well. Definitely hoping to come back soon :) thank you!!
The cabin Veronica and Dave build is absolutely beautiful and we were very impressed by their artwork and craftsmanship throughout their whole property. They were awesome hosts & we loved meeting them and following their recommendations of places to check out! Big Falls state park and the NickelBarn&CoffeeShop were exactly what we wanted to fill our day with. Cannot thank them enough!!!
