The land was beautiful! Corn fields surrounded by high tree lines. I arrived at the address listed, and a young man showed me to the property. It was very secluded, right on the river. I could see trout throughout the whole river, only caught 2. The cows greeted me in the morning, and were very calm and peaceful. This property was great. The campsite was situated within a corn field, but had plenty of open area for tent, car, and fire ring. I would highly recommend this property and will stay here in the future. The host was very easy to work with, and was very accommodating. I reserved the site last minute, about 3 hours before showing up and there were no issues at all. Plenty of firewood/logs/driftwood around.
Great first hipcamp experience
After multiple failed attempted to book a state park campsite, we booked a site on Mike’s land “day of” and drove across the state in an attempt to see the Northern Lights in a dark sky location (Labor Day weekend 2019). Unfortunately we never saw the Northern Lights BUT had a fantastic camping and stargazing experience. Mike is great and has a really nice property in a remote and beautiful area. Highly recommended. This was our first experience with Hipcamp and we were very impressed, we will be using the service again.
Loved this place! Mike was great. We spent 3 nights over labor day weekend and it was perfect. Hidden among the most scenic farm area in Wisconsin, we couldnt ask for better.
Mike had our site all ready, hidden behind the corn right at the creek bank. His cows would come buy a few times a day to graze along the creek. Plenty of firewood around. (Bring a saw and hatchet). Peaceful nights falling asleep to the sound of the creek and waking to the sound of neighboring farm animals and chatting with Mike when he came down to feed the cows. This is a hidden gem in the making! Mike had some great ideas to make it even better for camping. Can't wait go back next year! Thanks Mike!
