A mixed wooded area separates the site from the driveway offering privacy.  The northern view down the hill, overlooks our farm comprised of a barn style house, 1800s log cabin, shed, and greenhouse. Birds, butterflies, and critters abound.

Explore the greenhouse and gardens - full of seasonal produce, herbs, and flowers.

Site amenities: bench swing, tiki torches, picnic table, and fire pit with swing away grill, covered garbage can and recycling bin. Complementary wood provided for your first fire.  A shared sink area also available in our pavillion style garage for dishes or cleanup needed. Electricity also available here or at greenhouse to blow up an air mattress or charge device.

Explore the greenhouse and garden areas - full of seasonal produce and herbs (also for sale per availability). Flower gardens scatter color about and a pine treed hillside shelters a hammock, rings, and swing that entertain young and old.

Meander groomed walking trails through 30 acres of woods and prairie - 10 acres of which was planted in 2019 as a dedicated Monarch habitat planting. This is a full sensory experience - spectacular celestial starlit nights with serenading hoots owls, frogs, crickets, with occasional yips of coyotes in the distance. The honey bees are humming in their boxes, rooster crowing, and chickens do their daily foraging through the yard and woods. Turkey and deer are very common sightings.

Yard games available for use: Volleyball, badminton, bocce ball, trackball, and ring horseshoes.

Area Highlights: Amish bakery (7 miles), and Amish woodworking shop (1/2 mile) - note both closed on Sundays. This place is great! Beautiful location, wonderful property with lots of charm. WAY surpassed my expectations. The site has lots of great amenities: picnic table, tiki torches, wood swing, walking trails, and a beautiful farm and meadow. Super nice farm cat and dog that came and hung out too which my kids loved!

My siblings and I had a fantastic time camping in the meadow! We had access to three different water sources and common electrical plugs (offsite) which helped us with dishes and inflating our air mattress. We also had access to wifi, but ended up not needing it because the service was decent for basic things like texting and directions.

Beyond basic accommodations though, Allen was super friendly and helpful during our weekend stay. We had the opportunity to go on a tour around the property, where we were able to forage for mushrooms and explore their greenhouse! There were also numerous well-maintained trails that were perfect for evening walks after dinner. The site was a little further than expected from Interstate State Park (50ish minutes), but it was well-worth the drive.

If you need ideas for activities near the campsite, just ask! We followed some advice for local activities and they ended up being some of our best weekend experiences.

Hands down the best hip camp we have ever been to! My partner and I stayed here for just a night and had so much fun! Allen and his wife answered our endless questions about the vegetables growing in their greenhouse, offered us farm fresh eggs for purchase, and provide us with tips for cool places we could visit in the area. You can really make this place the experience you are looking for - either keeping to yourself or chatting with the kind and generous hosts. The prairie is absolutely breathtaking and the stargazing was amazing. I highly recommend this little spot of paradise for anyone looking for a getaway.

This place is beautiful, i was only there for one night and really want to go back. It was like a campsite farmers market. I ended up Bringing home eggs an lb of assorted peppers, herbs, tomatoes onions. It was sp fun to walk around the garden with Susan and learn all about her gardens!
The campsite is perfectly excluded from everyone else but close enough that you can join the rest of the campers anytime you like. They have a community fire some nights, but there is also a personal one at your campsite. The site is atop a hill with beautiful scenery all the way around.
I walked a small part of the trails and am eager to go back to continue my exploring.

Impeccably maintained and well-appointed in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed walks through the meadows and woodland, campfire and the moonrise. Gracious, welcoming hosts, and amazing tomatoes and peppers from the greenhouse. We hope to come back!
