Fantastic location. Peaceful quiet, and friendly environment. Large lots in neighborhood boarding farmland. Easy to get out and bike ride, run, or short drive to C&O Canal footpath.

This is the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at through Hipcamp. It was private and shaded, but only 11 mins from the local Walmart, 15 mins from tubing and water activities in Harpers Ferry, and just minutes off a main road - so it was extremely convenient to get to (can’t hear any cars or traffic though so a win-win!). Truly the best of both worlds. Sandra is a wonderful host who was extremely accommodating and sweet. Her land is vast (25+ acres!!) so lots of privacy and room for exploring around the site.

These are primitive campsites so you’ll need to forage for wood and dig a cat hole but being surrounded by (seemingly endless) woods made that easy.

You can drive right up to the site and park (we have a F150 and got through the cleared path through the woods fine) which is perfect. There’s a few sites on her property but plenty of space in between camps. We didn’t hear any campers the entire weekend and it was 4th of July weekend!

The best part in my opinion was the site we stayed at. At our arrival Sandra drove us around to multiple sites so we got to choose which one suited us best. There’s something for everyone here, woods camping, field camping, you name it she’s got a site for you! The site we picked had a walkway connecting two campsites so it was perfect for a group of 4 (Or I’d say even up to 4 on each site!).

Sandra’s land is beautiful, come here and you will truly have a weekend getaway!

Room to pull the truck in too! View of the walkway to the “2nd” connected site. It’s smaller but very convenient for two couples/families, etc.Little fire area.We cleared some brush to make a perfect hammock setup behind our tent.

Response from Sandra, the Host, on July 12th, 2020

Annemarie I am so glad you all enjoyed your stay. I really appreciate the way in which you respected the land and left the area in even better condition than when you arrived. Thank you for clearing some of the brush and please know you are also welcome back!!!

So private!!! Sandra knew we had 4 guests coming and went out of her way to create a second mini campsite for us so each couple would have space.

The drive through the woods would be rough on any vehicle that’s not an SUV or truck (or any vehicle that you don’t want to get scratched up).

Sandra was an excellent host! Met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of available sites allowing us to choose the perfect site for our needs. She was highly responsive via txt- but respected our privacy fully. The site was shaded, secluded, and peaceful. Bird calls wake you up in the morning and you feel like you are in your own world. We can’t wait to come back!

She was very nice and very helpful! She showed us around and let us pick our site, since we were there first and had kids, a baby and a dog. Suggested nearby activities and game clear directions how to get to anything we wanted or needed. I hope to go there again very soon. If you have a truck she has trails cut throughout her property woods also.

Sandra was very nice and was clear to us that we should enjoy her land. She gave us permission to choose our spot and even said it would be ok to turn up the music. She has a lovely piece of land with more than 100 acres. The spot we chose was on a manicured lawn with big bushes and trees around. We enjoyed our visit and will probably return.

It was a pleasure meeting Sandra and we had a great time at her forest site. We followed her back through some beautiful woodlands and established camp in a highly isolated spot at the end of the path. The wine berries (similar to raspberries) were perfectly ripe and made for a delicious breakfast. Thank you Sandra!
