COVID-19 Update--The inside bathroom will be unavailable until further notice.  The outdoor composting toilet and water for washing hands are still available.    -----

Campers can hike and find a very secluded wooded spot or we have a more traditional space in the heart of the farm next to the family garden and our small pond and with access to an indoor restroom, picnic table and fire pit.  The pond isis for viewing, no swimming or fishing.  We have nesting birds occasionally and we expect their habitat to be respected.  We have a beautiful, park like farm.

We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with two locally owned restaurants and one local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest.  We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is lake swimming.  Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees in about 45 minutes away.  Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore withing 40 minutes of our farm.   The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.

We welcome campers of all kinds!

We began operating our 150 acre farm in 2011 and became the first Certified Naturally Grown Livestock farm in West Virginia in 2013. We raise 100% grass-fed beef and pasture raised pigs.   We also have 30 acres of Certified Organic Corn.  There re no GMO's pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or other petroleum based products used on our farm.

Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them  for an additional fee. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.

Caveat-While vehicles are allowed to drive into the site near the fire ring, if there has been recent  rain we may restrict vehicles to parking on a gravel drive about 200ft from the main camp site (tent camping).  We also have a nice secluded place to park camping vehicles on a heavy use gravel farm road with walking access to water etc.

The farm was so peaceful and quiet. I had expected there to be a lot going on at the farm around us but this was not the case. We were given a space on a farm road to the pastures with shade trees, a small grove with picnic table, fire ring, and small pond. It was so very pleasant. There was plenty of open space and fields to walk. We stayed two nights and spend our one full day there just enjoying the setting.
