Thank you alan! what a joy!
Wow. This is probably the best site I've stayed at in WV. The site we had was clean, private feeling, and lacked the "backyard" feeling that comes along with the hipcamp experience at times. Not only do I feel that the price is an absolute steal, but from site cleanliness to location, it's pretty much the best location I've found on the east coast. Alan was so good to us in our time there. He made us a map highlighting kayak spots, and delivered firewood to our site at a very reasonable rate. Thanks for giving us one of our favorite camping experiences ever Alan!
The campground is beautiful. Quiet and secluded, yet easy to find. Our campsite, along with the others were kept spotless. Miles of woodland to wander. Around 12am the owls started cooing. Cant wait to go again someday.
Seclusion and stars
We loved our stay over the weekend! The site was well maintained and lovely. Toilet and hand-wash stations were clean and easily accessible from every site we saw.
The hosts were terrific, let us chose from any open site (we went with 2C) and brought our firewood down. We saw them riding around occasionally but the site was very private and secluded.
Gorgeous views of the night sky, cute little pond and several varieties of sites to choose from mean we are sure to return asap.
The mountain road out is a little heart thumping, but not difficult to find. We were able to find some forgotten necessities in the surrounding area easily and enjoyed a lunch at Canary Grill.
Avoid bringing bright white lights as there seem to be (I think) European hornets in the area, go for warm yellow anti-attraction ones and you should be fine.
A perfect fall campsite
We had the most perfect fall stay at this campsite! The hosts were super friendly and greeted us upon arrival with the firewood we ordered. Super friendly to our dog as well. The directions were clear and everything is so well organized and well-kept. The entrance is adorable and was decorated for fall. The campsite was spotless and perfectly situated. We had the whole section to ourselves and there was so much to explore. Port a potties and hand washing stations were super clean. There was plenty of additional wood laying around for the fire, so we had more than enough. We will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Wonderful, private campground
Alan’s campground was fantastic! We were at site 5B and loved how private it felt yet still close to the bathroom. Speaking of bathroom, the porta potty was very clean and toilet paper was provided. There was even a hand washing station with soap outside. The scenery was wonderful. We went in October and the leaves were changing which made for an amazing view. The campground is private and quiet. Only some minor road traffic is heard. The road to get to the campground is gravel but we had no issues with our sedan. We loved our stay and are already talking about coming back next year! You can’t beat the price... was cheaper and better than camping in a state park.
Campgrounds were incredibly clean and beautiful. This was a great spot to get away! The porta potties were also well maintained and having hand washing stations was great as well. Firewood was delivered by our warm and gracious host whenever we needed it. Will definitely visit again.
