Tommy was a great host gave us great directions in. The site is ina wide open field we had it to ourselves. Heads up you should have 4wd and be aware of your surrounds if traveling with a bigger rig and needing to turn around. Our trailer got stuck in a random hole when backing up but Tommy helped us out. Beautiful country side.
Tommy was very nice and made sure we were set up properly. The drive up to the property for our 25' class C was pretty narrow but we made it. There is no road sign for Sturgiss Rd. Follow his directions, pass Cales road on your left and the next rd to the left is his. VERY narrow and windy. (There is a chuch with large parking lot on the right and an old garage with old tires up on the left). The site is beautifully secluded and quiet. There is a small path in the trees to a small pond. We saw deer. The one thing i would say is the site is not quite level so levelers would be preferable.
We listened to Tommy’s perfect directions which took us straight to the campsite. The campsite was far enough down in the field so that it felt like you were far away. The small pond was was beautiful but only caught 1 bluegill. Lots of nice trails and rock cliffs to explore. Very peaceful night and would definitely go back!! Thank you Tommy!!
We loved our trip here. Amazing hiking, definitely not for the novice hiker though. A lot of rough terrain but it's exactly what we wanted. Extremely peaceful, super secluded.
Need 4WD or at least a truck or suv for sure.
Tommy met us at the bottom of his field gave is a small tour of the sites and gave us our pick. Then left us to our trip.
10 outta 10.
Beautiful, peaceful, secluded.
It was a beautiful area, kept nicely, and the host Tommy was wonderful. I had been skeptical of this site at first but that was one of the best camping trips I've ever had. 5 stars.
There are a few different wooded sites around the perimeter of this large property so it's easy to escape into the woods. Plenty of firewood to gather and Tommy is super accommodating and chill. It is primitive camping, so be prepared to leave no trace and keep it pristine.
