Just minutes away from Cranberry back country ,Cranberry glades, Hillscreek falls and the highland scenic highway. 8 miles off of route 19 where you can enjoy Summersville Lake and Gauley River Whitewater. Just a few miles on down the road to the New River Gorge, where on an October day guests from around the world come to jump off a perfectly good bridge, with parachutes attached of course. To many mountain streams to list all, where I myself enjoy fishing for our state fish Native brook trout. Cell service is sketchy in places, which I consider a plus if you want to enjoy all the beauty. My friend Rick Greene will take you and your family via mules and wagon to trout fish the Cranberry River, where no motor vehicles are permitted. Access only on foot, bike or horse. By appointment at cranberryadventures.com . Numerous walking trails and ATV trails. The Williams, Elk and Cranberry rivers are some of the best trout streams in the eastern U.S.

John and his grandchildren could not have been sweeter or more accommodating. The property is amazing and has a family vibe unlike no other sites we’ve stayed at. The area is incredible- just minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge area. Highly recommend.
The campground is quiet and right off a main state route. Access was easy. The host and his father and staff were helpful and available.
John from the start was extremely welcoming and friendly, we ended up extending another night because we enjoyed the area and hospitality we received. The area itself is beautiful, there is plenty of land and a couple lakes to fish in, there is a gas station 1 minute away and it's only about a 20 minute drive to Summerville. I couldn't recommend this place enough and will for sure be back one day. :)
Beautiful quiet relaxing getaway
We had a wonderful time. John, the host, was so welcoming & helpful. We loved the quiet & beautiful surroundings.

If you are planning a lake trip, river run, or just want to get off the grid... this is a great spot! Host was very hospitable and place was well kept! Will be back and will be promoting to our local kayaking groups in KY!
Great, primitive area for tent camping. Lots of outdoor space to hike around. The drive through WV was beautiful.
This is a great campground. It is a work in progress but coming along nicely. There is about 1/2 mile of gravel driveway up to the campsites. Very quiet and secluded. If you have ATVs they have plenty of areas to explore, they also have several small ponds for canoes or kayaks. The host made sure we had plenty of firewood. We will definitely stay here again.
It is located about 1/2 hour north of new river gorge, which may be a downside to some, but for us it was well worth the drive to gain the extra privacy.
Host was super friendly. Delivered us free fire wood. No picnic table was my only complaint.
Traveling across the country this summer and this is one of the best places I’ve camped so far. John was super kind and hooked us up with a bunch of firewood. It has hookups for an rv but we just camped in our tent. Nice to be able to use the electric outlets for the blowup mattress. The campsite was private but also had access to to an outhouse. Most importantly we were able to fish the ponds. We landed a bunch of bass including a 4 pounder. Highly recommend this place.
