Wild and wonderful West Virginia! If wild is what you're looking for, this is it: raw nature! Alone in the beautiful forest wilderness! Multiple primitive camping sites available - several with drive-in access - on 250 remote wooded acres. All sites except one = no neighbors / no other camp sites anywhere nearby - just blessedly quiet, peaceful seclusion from people! We were practicing social distancing before it was a thing! A variety of sites available - old growth forest, high meadows, or edge of forest beside small bubbling creek (& if you're super adventurous: under giant rock overhang / cave way up the holler) We don't count your children as extra guests, so bring them @ no extra charge. (We want kids coming to enjoy the wilderness). Bring your dogs or horses along and let them experience a personal private wilderness area with you. Get outside and get wild! Camping available in all seasons (check the weather though). Star gazing w/o light pollution; dozens of bird species to hear & see.. Foraging for mushrooms, ramps, more wild food in season w/miles of trails wide enough for UTV which make for great hiking (from super easy to super challenging). Total privacy wherever you choose to camp. IMPORTANT NOTES: Driveway not always suitable for cars w/no clearance. If we're not there in your weekend, there's no bathroom access (sorry) but bears poop in the woods, right? So can you! Also, speaking of bears (see what I did there?!), WVa does have black bears & we've seen one on trail cams in upper meadows (never seen it in person, so we doubt you will either) but other sites are far from this area.

Great stay, great host, great camp
Kelly was amazing. Incredibly hospitable and went well out of her way to be accommodating.
And the property was beautiful. Kelly took us all around showing us all kinds of great spots and teaching us about the area and property along the way.
Nature and solitude abound.
The host of this property was very helpful and was very hospitable. I was able to just get up on the mountain and get away and unplug. About the only signs of humanity that were present was very infrequent faint road noise and occasional aircrafts, but other than that complete solitude! The stars at night were gorgeous and vivid with the absence of ambient light pollution. While you could pull up a camper and just pass thru, this site in my opinion deserves a few days to truly appreciate it's natural beauty. Highly recommended!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and I really was happy you were able to get away and experience the solitude the property has to offer.
If you are looking for remote land with awesome adventures waiting for you to explore... GO!! Kelly is extremely helpful in providing any info you need and her land is amazing. Awesome cave to hike to and explore, highest point in the county hike, huge boulders to hike to and climb on... Turtles, cool lizards, great hikes... Just beautiful land to be on. We took 15 junior high kids and 4 leaders and we all had a BLAST camping and exploring the land. She provided wood for fires and hose water for washing up. Bathroom was available but not for all of our kids to use all the time. Most went in the woods most of the time. There's a meadow area around her house where we camped, but also a lot of spots to hike into and camp if you want to backpack. Beautiful drive to get there and beautiful holler to arrive in. Kelly also offers rides around her property if you want a lay of the land. Maps and trail maps as well: I mean, seriously, you can't go wrong visiting this place!! Thank you Kelly for being an amazing host!

YOU guys were GREAT! and I hope you visit with your groups again in the future with lots and lots of kids. It is such a great idea to get them out and unplugged to experience real things in the forest and interacting with each other.
wanted a nice out of the way camp spot where I could hike and camp in solitude and this location provided it perfectly . once I started wandering the trail I ran across an abundance of wild life and had my pick of places to set up camp . will definitely make use of it again ! highly recommend it .

I am SO glad that you enjoyed being alone in the forest (it really is wonderful to experience that way) and it great you were able to experience the wildlife as you were exploring- deer, turkey, fox, (hope you didn't see the coyotes or bear unless you were looking for them, then I hope you found them). THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACk - that is the best part of sharing a place we LOVE!
This site is a dream come true. First of all, Kelly clearly has love for this land. The site is so clean and natural.
When we hiked in, we were able to choose a site. We found a beautiful ridge-line with some great flat space for camping. Once there, the entire world disappears. We didn't hear any people, it was our own private world out there! We wandered the paths around the site (Kelly provided awesome maps), explored the creeks, valleys, ridge-lines, views, etc. It was wonderful.
Then at night, there was no light pollution, so we had amazing views of the stars.
I can't wait to come back. We re in love with this place. 11 out of 10!

Oh my gosh! You picked a great time to enjoy the property and the solitude! The best thing about hosting is sharing in the joy that the land brings to others! Hope you visit again soon!!
Kelly’s property was absolutely stunning! We had an amazing time exploring the many trails on the property! Kelly was very responsive and gave us some great foraging tips. We hope to visit again sometime soon!

Hope you come back sometime and I can take you out to find mushrooms
Kelly was great at communicating the entire time.
It was easy to find the place and set camp, she also provided firewood which was a lifesaver.
I totally recommend this stay :)

Glad you guys enjoyed it (wet feet and all) and were able to explore while you were there! Come back again and we can take you around the whole property in the buggy !
The hosts were amazingly great!! They took us in UTVs to the campsite of our choice and provided assistance to move camping equipment to the site. An amazing experience that i definitely would recommend to everyone that likes to embrace nature and private adventures isolated from people.
The area is absolutely beautiful.

You guys were GREAT! Hope to see you again in the future!
We had a wonderful camping experience on Kelly’s property! We chose to camp in the meadow close to the house because we hadn’t prepared for backpacking. There is a creek you have to drive across when you arrive at the property and because it had rained it was a little high but we were able to get through no problem. If we were to do it again I would probably prepare for backpacking because there are some really beautiful places to camp that we noticed when we did some day hiking. Kelly is very responsive and helpful with any questions I had leading up to the trip. It was lovely to hear all the sounds of nature and see the stars at night. I would highly recommend!

Always happy when people can enjoy the forest and hiking trails on the property we love SO MUCH! Glad you and your kids were able to enjoy nature - and also happy that you did not get to see the bear any closer than on the trail camera footage we were able to send you after you left! Come again and try out some of the more remote sites!
