This was a magic spot. Listening to the stream all night was lovely. The site was accessible and well equipped with wood, a fire pit and grill for cooking. The signage throughout the land was also well done and made me smile.
The hot springs however are the real gem of this place and not too far away from any of the 4 sites located here. Another guest told me there are more pools if you continue to hike about 1/4 mile further up river, but I didn’t explore.
I am definitely going to come back to this place many times!
Our fifth stay at this perfect oasis. So private, well-kept, beautiful, and fun. Great for families, friends, and couples. Sweet little hiking trails around the property and amazing swimming and soaking. Love it so much and feel very lucky to have access to this special place. Thank you!!!
Had an excellent time staying here on our way through the gorge for one night. Not too far off the highway, yet we felt completely removed and secluded. We loved the privacy, the perfect sized platform for our tent, the creek-level clearing with fire pit (separated from the platform by about 50 feet), and the fact that everything was in a bit of a clearing which allowed us to see the stars while still being surrounded by forest. I had a hard time justifying $50 for a camping spot, but this was a gem.
This was our first Hipcamp adventure and it was awesome. The site was just minutes of Highway 14 but felt like we were deep in the woods. The river was right next to the campsite and was idyllic. The host guided us out to the spot and loaded it up with plenty of firewood. As with any trip to the Gorge, weather moves fast and we got hit with a surprise thunderstorm, so come prepared!
Great spot. We found the hot springs! Only recommendation I have, Maybe better description of how to get to the hot springs. It's exactly how it's decribed and had a nice clean porty poty for use! Overall, nice stay and we would recommend!
Wind Wood Rivers is awesome! Easy to get to, host is super rad, campsites are clean and your a short walk to some hot springs. And coming from Portland, it's only an hour drive so it's the perfect place for anyone wanting to get out of town for a night or 2. Definitely recommend this place!
