The vibe at Wildflower Roundabout 🌻
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a great time staying at Nate's place! The island is so beautiful and it's a great place to escape for a weekend! It was great to already have a tent set up, complete with queen size bed and lots of amenities. The available firewood and drinking water made everything easy and simple! The site itself is located in a little alcove in Nate's front yard, but once you're there, feels private and homey.
I would recommend reserving your place on the ferry, as we were unaware that was an option and barely made it on our planned ferry trip, but that in itself was an adventure and we had a great time!
We spent some time in the nearby towns of Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor, both close by, but far enough away to feel like you're in the wilderness. They both have a funky island vibe and are a great addition to check out!
Definitely recommend staying at Wildflower Roundabout! We had such a great time!
We had trouble finding the road because we came in from the opposite side of the island due to a detour in town. We drove past the green marker that was instructed but the green lawn decoration was laying on the ground and had blown off- causing us to pass the road 3 times. We arrived at the tent before dark to make sure we knew where we were staying- and headed out to catch a sunset. When we arrived back at the house, it was completely dark, no lights, and luckily we had headlamps. We unpacked the car and turned back the sheets to find stains on them... we were going to sleep on top of our sleeping bags, but the noises from the pigs in the yard- snorting and rooting, and what sounded like a pack of dogs behind the house- they would not stop barking. We packed back up and drove down the road to a campsite and slept in our car.. I feel as though the listing is misleading and was very disappointed.
