Camp along the bank of the enchanting Salmon Creeek River beneath towering cedar and fir trees whildst songbirds chatter all around!

Sit with your toes in cool water beneath the dappled light of the big leaf maple or find a sunnier spot on our tiny sand bank to relax.  This piece of heaven  is the perfect river for children of all ages because of the varying depths, abundance of wildlife and scenic views. You can wade, take a dip in the small smim 'n' splash hole, kayak, fish or catch crawdads for supper.

This oasis is almost completley private unless my kids or other campers that are staying a ways off come down to play in the creek.  The creek is communal between 10 am and 8 pm but after that, it's all yours to laugh and sing the night away.

The main camping area and tent site are almost completely out of view of our neighbors across the way.  This camp on the bank is a pretty good size clearing that comfortably accomodate 4 -6 tentsites.  More can be set up but they may be on a slope.

There is garden cart to transport any gear down the 2-3 minute walk to the creek. At one spot after you pass through the garden there is a decent slope as you decend so If you need help with the cart, we'd love to be of assistance.

The toilet bucket compostable toiled provided is in a tepee tucked under the cedar tree. We provide a plastic bag, compostable liner, woodchips and toilet paper. Cover your waste with a handful of woodchips each time you use it then PACK OUT your waste. We reccomend you bring your own bucket to carry the bags for easier transport in your car.

Use the codeword PTP when you reserve your spot so I know you read and understand the listing.

We really enjoyed our impromptu stay with Julie. The spot was down a hill and quite a ways from the house and almost completely surrounded by trees and foliage, making for a secluded escape. We loved being right next to the creek, not just for the lovely sound, but wading and washing up. The campfire circle was great (bonus: they had chopped wood for us!), and the toilet situation was just as described--and also very secluded. ;)

Julie was super responsive when I was booking and very friendly in person. She and her family were ready to help if we needed anything. Note that they have 2 friendly dogs, but they were quiet and not a problem at all. I wish I had taken more pictures, but we just set up camp and got down with relaxing! :D

I only took two pictures as we were relaxing too much! This is the campfire before sunset.Campfire after sunset.

Our spot on the creek was awesome! I will definitely be back. When I do, I'll be sure to get a Radio Flyer wagon for the trips from the car since you have to park on the road and walk through the garden. It was very peaceful and relaxing — retreat is the perfect word.

First time ever using hip camp. Julie was super funny, her kids and husband were so helpful with everything from unloading to loading.. this camp site is also super great for kids! I also loved waking up to the birds chirping.

Advice for future campers
Don't come if you arent a big fan of kids
Dont come if you cant share your site. This site os the only acess to the creek so people will come and go untill 8. Then its all yours. Nobody likes a dummy downer

Thanks for the compliment and tip! The kids really enjoyed how you welcomed their help bringing your stuff down! It's a great experience for them and they really loved their first tip so thank you! :) :) :) For others reading this: During the summer when it's hot we spend time in the creek and invite friends too on occasion! If you want to know if we plan to be down there we will let you know! And yes, other campers do walk past this site to hang out in the creek 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Our property has 3 and somtimes 4 other sites. I hope this helps!

Salmon Creek Riverside Retreat is a peaceful getaway just outside of the city. If you need a breather from everyday life, I recommend pitching a tent, cooking food over the fire pit, and taking a soak in the river. You won’t regret it!

It was a great stay that easily fit my 12x18 foot, 10 person tent. The river was sweet and quiet, making for an incredible wake up.

We enjoyed spending the day at this campsite, cooling off by the river and enjoying the sights and sounds, however we ended up having to leave that same evening as the owners dog got loose and attacked both of our dogs, injuring one. I would not recommend bringing any dogs to this site.

I am heartbroken that you senior dog was hurt and I am so sorry it happened!!! I hope the full refund and willingness to make it right offers some consulation. She should not have been down there to begin with but she has NEVER "attacked" a dog before. I would not have had people come to our property if that had been a condern. My son that was right there felt that both dogs were in it together. It did happen though and I can't say sorry enough that she got out and scared and hurt your dog. That will never, ever happen again as our airdale terrier, Lizzy was rehomed today as I told you would be happening already because she got out too much when my kids leave the door open. She is no longer here and will never be again. I am so sorry. :(
