More a of junkyard than a campsite
This “campsite” was more just a junkyard area in someone’s backyard. In their defense, it was their 1st day on hipcamp and Airbnb, but I would not recommend staying here until they get the site more together. The host, Josh, was perfectly nice and welcoming, but there were no defined “campsites” and the property had a bit of a creepy vibe. But what can you really expect for $15?
Great place. sweet cow!
Michelle was great. She showed us around and introduced us to the animals. The group site was stocked with a fire pit, a camp fire grill thing, and even some chairs and benches. It was a big field but only some of it was available and mowed down. We were able to drive in but only because we borrowed a truck. Our car would not have been able to get back there. There was a clean porta-potty, a wash station to wash up dishes, and access to potable water. There was a small amount of street noise but you mostly just hear the ocean. I enjoyed the animals! Mostly Daisy, the brown cow. She loves cut up apples.
August stay at washaway
We stayed there for three nights in August, and were the only campers on site for the first two nights. The site is a little rough around the edges, but is priced appropriately to reflect it. My girls loved the cows, pigs and chicken that was running around. We were allowed to burn the fallen wood around site, which was nice. We would stay again.
Great little hidden gem.
As a single mom of 4, this place had lots to offer my kids and self. Beach is just a block or so away. Trail for kids to explore. Farm animals to pet and open field for them to throw a frisbee in. Couldn't have gotten much better for us. Thank you. We'll be back again. Thanks to our friendly camper neighbor Yohan. He was an awesome addition for my kids with his many pets.
We camped here on a crisp, clear Fall night and found the best stargazing we'd seen in years. Our camp spot was simple and sweet, tucked into the back of the property with trees lining it on two sides. Michelle and Josh were quick to help us both before we arrived and when we got to the site. We had a great visit and would definitely stay here again!
