Please note, similar to the Bogachiel State Park, Virago Camp is located next to Hwy 101. There will be some road noise. :)

Firewood is available across the road at RW Services for $5/bundle.

The Virago Campground is a perfect place to home-base your visit to the stunning Olympic Peninsula.

We had a wonderful time at Janice's campground! The site was well maintained, a close drive to town, and just big enough for our needs! Janice was attentive and checked in to see if there was anything that we needed, and carts provided to being our stuff from the parking lot to camp site were a nice plus. Our pups (and neighbors' pups) enjoyed roaming around off-leash and playing together, and we all had a blast swimming in the river.

Found this perfect little spot last minute. Tents sites were next to each other but with enough space between. Dogs loved running in the open field, unleashed allowed. There is a perfect little river spot at the end of the area. Restroom facilities were very cleaned for being portable. Overall, great experience. Janice was a great host.

Awesome location near the river and a short drive from forks. Loved the fire pit, trash can, bathrooms, and wagons offered to move supplies. The other groups were partying and had a bunch of dogs off leash, but were chill.

Virago exceeded all of our expectations! We stayed in the meadow sites, which allowed plenty of room for our family of 5, including teens. The river is beautiful with a wonderful swimming hole. The whole campground is clean and well attended. Janice is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and super responsive to her guests. She even whipped out brand new picnic tables for the whole campground during the weekend we stayed. Although the sites were all booked up during our stay, the guests were all respectful and quiet at bedtime and it never felt crowded. Don't miss this special place when visiting the coastal areas and Olympic national park.

Our group of 9 stayed in a couple of the meadow sites, and we loved them! It was so nice having the river right by the sites to cool off in after a day of hiking along the coast. Janice is wonderful, and she went above and beyond to help us out when another group had some confusion about site numbers. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for this beautiful place to camp, Janice!

Virago Camp was such a great camping spot! Perfect location and plenty of space for the kids to run around. We spent the first morning in the river and then drove to ruby beach (just 20ish minutes down the road) and came right back to the river. The swimming hole was great for a 7 and 9 year old. Very well kept and we were surprised with how clean the bathrooms were. Such a great location to explore the Area.

The big open Manicured field adjacent to the sites and proximity to the river and beaches was great. Just the right amount of trees for morning shade. Bring earplugs for morning logging trucks on weekdays. Clean and safe.

This is a new Hip Camp. The hosts are nice folks who make sure everybody is comfortable. The meadow sites aren’t private although the river side meadow sites look like they are from the map. Some tent sites are rock gravel which are flat but not comfy. The river is easily accessible. Lots of kids and dogs. Janice is great about asking for ideas about improvements. Huge Jenga game.
